This is laughable! The Ormond blokes having a crack at GE and their president are absolute Muppets. I met the president of GE when we played them this year and he is nothing but a good operator who is trying better his club, highly doubt he is motivated by stealing players... however, if the grass is greener....

Here's an idea, ask your 'kids' to stay at your club.

Bedford, if you have to tell every second poster on this thread to 'piss off', what's the point in the thread? All you are doing is making all people on here and who read this forum sympathise with GE for trying to better their club.

Why don't you and your new best mates AM and Gunn Island discuss it privately?

Bang! Gawwwwwwwn

So much energy devoted to a D2 club and Ormond, who sadly are destined for D and below . Both clubs struggling for relevance.

GE can do all they like - it won't work , it reminds me of Prahran who tried to get an alliance with every school in the free world, rather than accept your lot down in D2 and below like Albert Park have .

So what you're saying. Captain, is a club (G E ) should just lay down and not try to better themselves? You sound like someone who has no ambition, or is jealous of a club that has.

If would be a sad day if every club didn’t aspire to higher honours. For many reasons, not the least of which is the competition would be at risk of whithering on the vine if that was not the case.

Aspiration is not what is at issue, it’s whether an acceptable standard of behaviour may have been compromised in pursuit of the desire to be successful.

Well said DHL.

Thank you so much, AM, for starting an absolute storm in a teacup! You either need a better script for viagra or a much more expensive bottle of red to satisfy your inner urges than this crap.
Leave it alone and let it play its course.
I have heard nothing on this forum about the inert intelligence of our younger fraternity.
Let them see, observe and adjudicate. I'll back them to decide they way they want to.
As for killerwasp - the initials for Die Hard Fan is DHF NOT DHL.
All the best.

Very much seems like a "nothing to see here" scenario. Good on Glen Eira for being proactive in what must be an extremely difficult area to recruit in. Ormond are a strong club with a massive junior program and plenty of kids at the senior club. A very good connection it seems. I can't see them suddenly losing them to Glen Eira given how much time they put in to them. As long as there's nothing outside the rules being done, then fair play Glen Eira. Play on.

A classic example of shouting your mouth off without having the foggiest idea of the matter at hand.

And I find your puerile references insulting. GROW UP!

Hardly jealous, as we head to C section and above. I am just saying clubs need to accept their limitations and be happy with where they are at . Glen eira will never be more than a battling D grade club , just like Albert park , prahran, NOBS and Therry.

All have chased almalgamations , mergers and partnerships and have got nowhere . They are all still D grade clubs .

Thanks for a sensible post, workhorse. The last sentence is at the heart of the matter. I'd say rather than rules, within the bounds of propriety and reasonableness.

Fair enough. Are you able to elaborate on what's allegedly occurred if you know the details? Rather than everyone speculating. Is it the fact that he claimed they would be playing under the 'Old McKinnon' banner whilst affiliated with Glen Eira, or was there something more at play?

This is my last post on the matter and I hope AM follows suite.
I now know a fair bit about this and seriously I don't think many will respond, maybe 5 to 6, unfortunately a couple probably would have played seniors next year.
Glen Eira are a very pro-active club with a President who is always on the front foot. But there is history between himself and his counterpart at Ormond.
It is now up to Ormond to continue the good work done already with junior development.
That is all.

I guess like most here, Rissoles doesn't understand it to be an issue except for the Ormond hangers on, who do think it's an issue.
