Digital download done on both my PS4s and have a full day set aside on Saturday to immerse myself into the old West.

I think the thing for me with Odyssey is, that after flogging Origins and finishing it only months ago it will be much the same game, I liked Origins but after playing the whole game and the 2 DLC's i was pretty over it at the end, so I am thinking a break is necessary

Now back to RDR, I am torn about preordering the digital version, I know I can buy it cheaper buying the physical copy on release, but the size of the install has me thinking i wont be able to play it for a day or so (fixed wireless NBN but still going to take a lonnng while)...Preorder I am paying 30 bucks more but I can get the ball rolling at least

I am just looking forward to this game, I have cleared my weekend by doing all the stuff i need to do this weekend gone, now to decide to preorder digital or not

Preordered my copy at Harvey Norman today, have Friday off, so will be there at 9 when it opens to grab it, take it home and start downloading it

Hopefully will finish downloading sometime Saturday
lol

I don't understand why you keep saying this? The day 1 patch won't be that big.

As for the game itself, there are 2 discs. A data install disc and a game disc. The entire game will be on those discs so you don't have to download anything; merely copy the game onto your hard drive, which is way quicker than downloading.

I just don't understand why you're constantly talking as though you'll need to buy the disc and have significant download times

the guy who posted this clip on resetera is now claiming that rockstar sent people to his doorstep to ask him how he got the copy of the game:eek:

some recent games have had some pretty significant day one patches, hoping RDR2 doesn't but you just never know

Rockstar have confirmed the patch but not the size. I wouldn't be surprised if it was 10g or more.

one time having an xbox is an advantage of PS4 :)

Good question, I haven't brought a physical version in years but I seem to remember still having quite a big download with a game that i brought but it was a while ago

Maybe it's because I haven't brought one in a while( checked my games and my last brought game was a 360 game), prob just a bit confused about it all, but am happy to hear that I wont have to wait, lol now that you have pointed it out re the data disc I am feeling a bit stupid, I am sure I will get over it though

Thanks for the info

Bring on Friday

I'm talking PSN vs Xbox live
PSN has actually been much better for me lately. Have been downloading at speeds equal if not greater than the Xbox. Unsure if I have just gotten lucky on the servers I have been downloading from or if they have finally fixed their shit.

That's a thing?

Not sure what that has to do with patch download speeds.

His reference is for any download speed. PSN is horrible compared to Xbox and has been since launch and still is for me even with NBN. Max I get is about 1-2 mb/s on PSN where as 20 mb/s on Xbox.

Really? I can download a game in under 20 mins, that's a 50g + game.
