Yeah, almost certainly going to get a copy. It would be pretty stupid if a major JB store didn't get a large amount of stock for a big game like RDR.

well with time zones, if they released it on the same day, it comes out here then asia then europe then America, by putting america a day early it comes out in USA then aus then asia then europe

It's 2 days earlier now though.

And GTA IV was done the way you mention, as in Asia, Europe then America IIRC. Rockstar are normally good with their releases, it's only 2 days, but it's still a strange move even having it release on a Friday when games are generally a Thursday release.

Red Dead Redemption is a must-play game. Rockstar has taken the Western to new heights and created one of the deepest, most fun, and most gorgeous games around. You can expect the occasional bug or visual hiccup, but you can also expect a fantastic game that offers the Western experience we've all been waiting for. Red Dead Redemption is a complete game in every sense -- both the single player and multiplayer modes are excellent -- and still manages to offer an attention to detail you rarely see from a game of this scope.

A powerful story and remarkable characters. Tons of depth, but it doesn't quite have the perfect polish that most Rockstar games exhibit.

A few visual hiccups are the only downside to this incredible looking game. Fantastic art direction.

Superb voice acting and a wonderful soundtrack.

Great variety, great combat, and a great multiplayer mode.

At the outset Red Dead Redemption promises to be GTA on horseback. Several hours later it goes on to fulfil that promise and then top it. This is so much more than a mere retooling of Rockstar's tried and tested open world formula – it's an artful take on a world long lost, an evocative paean to not only the Western genre but also to the beautiful expanse of the American landscape. Even better though is that under that remarkable feat is a game that's been refined and revitalised, setting the open world genre free and creating an experience that's quite likely to be one of this year's very best.

Menus are thoughtfully integrated into the game's own style, load-times are near non-existent and the HUD is kept beautifully minimal.

Up-close it can be a little rough around the edges, but when it's dealing with the scale that's the game's penchant it's truly breathtaking.

Great voice-work is matched by a brilliantly atmospheric bespoke soundtrack that helps bring the West to life.

Rockstar's formula has been progressed enough to make this appeal even to non-fans of GTA, and there's an awesome amount of variety on display.

The West keeps on giving well beyond the completion of the campaign – unlocking all of its secrets could well be a lifetime's work.

Don't go there, try to break the streetdate yourself. Go to Myer/Target/Kmart/bigw etc and ask them them if it's in stock. Hopefully the employee knows nothing about video games and release dates so they will check for you and get the game.
