If someone breaks the street date is it fair game for everyone else to start selling copies as well?

Street date is broken in Melbourne. JBhifi, Game, and EB are all selling.

Yes, but a lot of the time's the reverse can happen. Most of the time the fact that a store like Dick Smith, K-Mart, Target, Big W sells a game earlier than EB, GAME or JB HIFI.... then EB, GAME (and sometimes) JB will then sell it earlier so that they don't lose any potential sales by refusing to sell early.

Sometimes it can be the reverse, EB or GAME will sell early, but K-Mart, Target, Big W refuse (as they don't want to get a fine.... not knowing that it's ok to sell once they do get the official go ahead) or they havn't had the stock arrive yet.

There's little to no chance of games selling early at stores like Myer or Harvey Norman. At least at my local HN store, while most games are $20 below the original rrp of a game..... they are sometimes slow to put the games on shelves (stock usually gets sorted and put on shelves a week after official release).

Yep. Confirmation is needed of purchase and has to be faxed to HQ

Once this is done, the buying team gain permission and email is sent out stating to sell. Happens within 30 mins nation wide on the big games

Got it from JBhifi, was the first one down there, they had a bit of an argument as they weren't 100% sure. Was quite funny to watch as no one wanted to take responsibility for selling it first.

We has an email sent to us from take 2 saying there is a sTRICT embargo on the date - I could bring it home but I wont. There has been action against stores that have broken dates.

Guess it wasn't so strict.

Game gave it to me for $80! flipping awesome.

I won't be price matching, but i have a rewards point voucher to use from them.... if i use it on RDR or UFC 2010 next week... whatever game i buy will only be $70 . Beats the crap out of paying $109.95, i could go online and pay anywhere between $65 - $73 (more like $85 - $93 thanks to postage + handling).

I was at Northland today and when I wandered past EB Games I noticed they were advertising it in the 'New Release' section, rather than 'Coming Soon'.

However, when I went into JB Hi-Fi they were advertising it under signs that said 'Coming Soon! 21st May', so I figured EB Games just made a simple oversight and thus I didn't bother to enquire.

Ah well, I have the Footy Show to entertain me in the time being tonight.

been playing the game for the last few hours and think it's pretty awesome

i love how the little random events just occur
for example....i was out skinning a shitload of animals just so i could earn heaps of cash by selling them.... day turned to night as i'm just killing/skinning away then all of a sudden in the middle of nowhere these cop guys run out chasing bandits and start open firing on me as well so instead of keeping on running i killed everyone but then i lost 100 honour points

the whole game just has a great feel and i look forward to putting more time into it.
