Smeging hell, there is not enough recognition on this board IMO. I have series I, II, and III on DVD. Absolutely love it, Rimmer is what makes this show. Planning to get the later ones at some stage.

Tell us your favourite moments/characters/episodes.

I have the three series on DVD too - love it!!

Future Echoes episode is great.

Rimmer finds the pod with the 'Quagaar' warrior!

Rimmer rooming with himself!!

Chloe Annett is a babe!

Rimmer is hysterical (Chris Barrie is great in The Brittas Empire too).

Rimmer: Death? It's like being on holiday with a group of Germans.

Rimmer: And on that day, Lister, Satan will be skating to work.

Rimmer: No, Lister, what makes us different from animals is we don't use our tongues to clean our own genitals.

The books are fantastic too!

I have series I, II, III & IV on DVD. One of my all-time Comedy programs. I will admit though, that on occasions Rimmer get a little teadious. Lister is the star for me, and Kochanski is hot.

Can't remember exactly how many shows i've got spread all over the place on the end of tapes plus the 3 or 4 whole tapes i've got, accidently taped over 1/2 dozen or so episodes too(all good ones, which is always the way, including backwards twice)

Great show. A fav episode that comes to mind is the one where they slip that viagra type substance into the prison guards water bottles whilst playing basketball against them. Funny *****.

It's a great show. Pretty underrated, considering it's been going for over a decade and is still very funny. Some favourite bits that come to mind, ... When Kryten cooks lobster for Lister and Lister puts ketchup on it, Kryten exasperated says "Ketchup!? Ketchup!!!?" Then his head explodes. They screw a new head onto his body and it's first words are "Ketchup!? Ketchup!!!?" then his head explodes again. Or when Lister has to marry the Guelph in order to get a spare part of them, or when Cat takes a reverse-dump in the Backwards episode, and when they take a virtual reality ride into Rimmer's subconscious, where the little Rimmer dolls are singing "Arnold, Arnold, Arnold Rimmer, he's also a fantastic swimmer." There's a lot more.

My fave line is probably when The Cat is being judged by death:

Death: and what have you contributed during your time?
Cat: I've got a cute ass!

I reckon Cat's the coolest character on the show, just narrowly over Lister (Rimmer's such an annoying git, reminds me of Eddie Mcguire for some reason)
One of the best episodes is Dimension Jump, featuring the debut of Ace Rimmer, however, that is just too cool for words.
Can't remember the episode name, but I love the scene where Cat drives everyone nuts by repeatedly asking 'So what is it ?'
and Lister replies 'someone punch him out' (think it might have been statis leak)
And am I the only geezer who prefers the female Holly to the male version ?
I reckon Hattie is so god damn cute (not in a sexy fashion) in scenes when she faints after meeting Ace Rimmer and her facial expressions after her IQ ratings soar downwards.
I don't think it's a patch on Dr Who but it still is one of the best british shows around.

Red Dwarfs actually coming out with a full length movie supposedly later this year. Whether or not there is a series 9 depends upon the reception the movie gets.

Very, very good show!
A favourite of mine is when the crew get trapped on the planet with the good Vs evil waxwork figures fight, and its Gehngis Kahn and Hitler Vs Marylin Munroe and Laurel and Hardy! Very funny!

The Cats "Tounge-tied" song and dance were excellent as well!

My favourite quote is (female) Holly getting her voice muddled up -

"Rude alert, rude alert, this is not a daffodil!" :D
