Red Under The Bed - On-Line

Some of you might remember my zine, last year, Red Under The Bed. The two editions consisted of articles on the Fitzroy Reds (hence the title!), the Brisbane Lions, and the now defunct Coburg-Fitzroy Lions.

For next season, I'm thinking about doing an on-line version.

Basically, I want to know if people on this site are interested in contributing some of the things they have on here, to an on-line version of Red Under The Bed.

Perhaps things like:
* Match reports (from the Reds, Juniors, and Lions, and other local sides, if people want).
* Trivia questions/competion
* General interest articles.
* Book reviews
* Flashbacks
* Player profiles
* Etc.

I'm thinking about running a tipping comp. or something too, and maybe a few other things.

While I'm not expecting the site to look professional or anything, it could be a fun way to help promote the Roys, and Lions. Similarly, I'm not expecting it to take over from the Roys board on BF, but rather complement the discussions etc., that are had on here.

If people are interested, just post in this topic, and we can use it as a think tank of ideas, etc.

I am bang up for it. I was just honing my skills for an onslaught of Shirtfront and had submitted a few articles when I heard the tragic news it went belly up. Still have a couple of book reviews etc that might be relevant. Let us know what your after.

Thanks for the offers. From the interest shown here, it definitely sounds worth doing.

I'm not necessarily planning to have it up in the 'very' near future. I'm probably aiming for the start of next season (or so).

I'll be happy to put up almost anything on the site (as long as it won't get me in trouble!), so contributions from anyone/everyone are going to be welcome.

I've got a mate who is involved in graphic design, and also knows a bit about webdesign, so, I should be able to get something at least half decent up and running.

I'll keep you all updated as things progress.

Hi Olmy,

Perhaps have a word with Bill Atherton regarding the online edition of RUTB, as this is the sort of thing he is looking at for Fitzroyfc.com.au. Mobbenfuhrer and I had a meeting with him earlier this year regarding information to put on the site, and it sounds like a lot of the stuff you are discussing ties up with ideas we had for the official Fitzroy site. The fabulous Billy A has had a lot on his plate recently due to being tax time and all, thus the further development of the Fitzroy website has been back a little. But I'm sure that if you put your ideas to him, he might suggest incorparating these things into the official website. Worth a try....
