Pretty much the usual post New Year deal. They couldn't possibly keep it the same after being comprehensively belted 2 weeks in a row.

See I reckon that's flawed thinking- Ludeman has played for 5/6 seasons- he's not holding his place and he's not getting better with the bat, so instead of "one more chance " **** him off now and bring in the next best girl and have a look at him.

Although weve been smashed both games I'm actually more concerned with our bowling. Granted we are down our 2 best pace options but we are as impotent as a 95yo man.

I'm a huge Ludenan fan, played against him when he was 15 or 16 in an A Grade final - technically he had no flaws - now - littered with them and he's a good lad but "this is Big Brother - it's time to go Tim!"

The keeping one is a bit controversial.

Harry Nielsen (son of the boss) has been keeping in the Future's team. The only other keeper in the squad. Is a good prospect but is only young. Not ready for Shield cricket yet I would think and hasn't set the world on fire at that level this season.

Better immediate options like Alex Carey have been playing Future's as a batter-only.

Nielson, Weatherald and Carey all playing futures and training with the SACAs. Nielson not close to ready I don't think though; gotta be Carey based on his premier performances?

Really not sure about picking Andrews as a four day bowler. Reckon he just doesn't do enough with the ball to create wickets. I'd play four seamers or give Akash Patel a go.

Wholesale changes over the break thanks. Ludeman out; either Carey in or we poach someone from interstate. He's costing us. Cooper out, get rid of his contract and poach someone good from interstate to open the batting.. Bosisto? Drop Cosgrove, hasnt done enough and sets a poor standard in terms of professionalism, isn't the type of experienced player I want leading the way.
Persist with Kelvin Smith/Alex Gregory. Elite talent that needs to be given a go like Queensland have shown.
Get rid of Nielson. He failed with Australia, what makes us think he's got the skills to turn around the Redbacks?
Look at the bowling lineup. See if we can poach anyone there. I imagine Sayers wont be near the test side when everyone is available so we should have him back. Hope Richardsons shield form improves when he's back.

Richardson, Sayers, Zampa, Head, Lehmann, Mennie, Ferguson, Ross

Players we should look at to start if we cant poach anyone:
Carey, K.Smith, Gregory (at 6)

I remember his dad running a coaching course when he was coach of Melbourne CC. Was very impressive.

And he doesn't like that. He is one of 13 players in Australia who average 40 with the bat in FC cricket, if he focuses on that he could get it up to 45 or so.

Captain of Aus u/19's bats in the top order for Melbourne - very small but looks the goods. Seen him torch good juniors
