Can't see that happening with Berry not there, not to mention he has had some seriously poor captaincy showings in the past. I don't know why but Ben Rohrer springs to mind, but his best Cricket seems to be behind him.
Quiney has captained a mediocre Victorian side once, when Wade was on International duty and lost with an attack of Ahmed, Boland and 2 others I can't remember but weren't great.
So indefinite leave for personal reasons means sacked nowadays? I'm by far the sharpest tool in the shed but I believe that indefinite leave means that he nor the organisation knows when he will be back. I'm not sure how that is sacked??
Because he says so.

Berry is a bit like Hardwick at the Tigers. They have improved over time but since the one day title it hasn't exactly been shown through results.

One wicket off hosting the Sheffield shield final the last 2 seasons, this season has been disappointing though taking out the Strikers but obviously there have been other factors contributing to some of that.

With Botha presumably leaving at the end of the season it will leave the Redbacks without a decent all rounder on their list. Hopefully Gregory, Lehmann or Valente can step up next season.

They have a bloke with nearly 200 FC wickets at under 30 and nearly 5000 runs at nearly 40. His name is Andrew McDonald.

He just needs a double hamstring transplant and he'll be ready to go.

Fully expect him to retire at the end of the season if not sooner.

Does anyone know what is actually happening? If so I'd appreciate a pm - please

Coach goes, then captain, and now we have a 21 year old 'batting prodigy' who averages under 30 with the bat and doesn't seem to be the smartest fellow going around as our captain.

Surely I'm missing out on some serious gossip here???

South Australia - On The Move........backwards

Chad Sayers tweeted that he's having surgery tomorrow and will miss the rest of the season. Big blow. Hopefully Putland, Richo and Mennie can play out the rest of the season.

That hurts.

I don't see the issue with Travis Head being captain? For all we know, it might elevate his game. Just because Cameron White never reached the heights that was expected of him when made captain, it doesn't mean Head will follow. And White is a damn good captain at the very least. Head was obviously picked for a reason, and he has captained in the past. His name wasn't drawn from a hat. And I'm glad he is starting now, so he can learn under the likes of Botha and McDonald who wont be back next year.

If they wanted to take a few steps backwards, they'd have recruited a veteran like Quiney or Rohrer as a specialist captain who would be struggling to make the 12. That would have been the Redbacks of old.

Quiney would be the best opener at South Australia, ridiculous comment.

I'd take Cosgrove over Quiney, no questions asked. At least Cosgrove is steady with his 30s and 40s, not on the downward slope like Quiney. And there's no point having two average 30 year old openers in the one side - or 32 in Quiney's case. Blood a youngster at the other end.
