Disappointing but not surprising that we knocked him back for a bowling coach job 4 years ago. Hopefully even if he's only the strikers coach he can set a few things in order off the field for SA cricket.

Realistically - how much influence can a T20 Coach have? Particularly when the problems run much deeper? Great that coaches like Fleming and Dizzy are feted and rewarded, but I reckon it's more hype. I'm not saying they can't coach - far from it, but I think the hype is overplayed to a large extent.

Dizzy has done a pretty good job with Yorkshire.

They were a mess a few years back and have won the Div 1 County Championship under Dizzy and have 5 players in the current English test squad.

I don't think he can do anything for the Redbacks if he's just the coach of the strikers but his coaching is highly rated for a reason.

Sounds good, hope it helps cricket in SA :) Will he get the Redbacks job too then?

Yorkshire have given him permission to go for the BBL because it's not long and it won't effect his job at Yorkshire.

Coaching South Australia for half a year is a different matter

How are those defamation accusations against me going? #toldyouso

Dizzy would be in the perfect position to know why SA produces very little talent and why Yorkshire is currently producing a lot of talented cricketers. I'd be hoping he can work with those in charge to make a few changes. Maybe with this shakeup they can finally reduce the number of grade teams which will hopefully help the transition from grade cricket to state cricket in SA.

Pretty sure Cox already changed the grade comp

Not sure being Strikers coach can have much influence on Structual issues, despite his intimate knowledge.

You'd hope they are interested in his opinions.

The premier comp has helped but there is still the grade comp which needs restructuring.

With a premier league. The real problem is that there are too many teams for the talent base - 13. Have heard murmurings that they want to trim it down to ten through mergers to make a more competitive competition.

SACA "A" Grade Final @ Woodville Oval.

Woodville 274 (McInerney 69, Andrews 67*, Coles 41, Birchmore 34, Somerfield 4/80, Winter 3/68)
Tea Tree Gully 0/39 (Evans 26*, Holliday 10*)

A good start tomorrow, plus Travis Head to bat, the Gullies are looking good for the flag right now.

Final update. Head out for 13, but the Gullies holding it together at this stage to be 3/202.

Timothy Evans is on 90, Davey on 37.
How does Head go making 100s in Grade cricket, out of interest? Cheers.

Davey dismissed for 55 when the score was 244, but they are now only 7 runs away from the flag. 5/268, Weaver 21, Borgas 10
Borgas in at 7? That's an incredibly strong grade batting order if that's the case.
