Yep. Took seven in the futures game and is a bloody handy batsman.

Still not a fan of him as a long format spinner but he's taken a sevenfa at second XI level so you've gotta pick him if you're picking one.

Losing Sayers, Richardson and Zampa to Australian duties on top of Fergie's ACL will hurt and is a position the Redbacks haven't found themselves in for a long time. Hopefully Mennie, Putland, Worrall and Andrews can help us knock the Vics off top spot.

Good luck with that - Siddle & Pattonson have been in ice for weeks - I watched them net last week and had a chat to both at rehab - your boys will be in for a thorough examination

Thankfully we play Queensland first up and not Victoria. Think i'm right in saying that Pattinson and Siddle will only play 1 shield match before the NZ tour.

Lucky that Usman Khawaja isn't going to be available for the Bulls for this game due to national . . . oh wait, hold on, maybe he is

Queensland doing nicely in 2nd XI match too at Glenelg at moment - century in each innings to Heazlett and wickets to Pete George has them on top with a day to go. Should be a good Shield match imo.

I haven't seen him bowl this season but I did last season and he didn't turn it at all. Darted them in. Hopefully has added a bit of fizz since then.

In the Matador cup it didn't look like he was turning it a lot. Looked similar to Daniel Vettori.

Sayers (out) - test tour. Either Nick Benton or Cam Valente in. Zampa in for Tom Andrews. Richardson came back from NZ with a sore back. Not sure how serious.

Thought they might have made a change after last game but they've kept faith with everyone. Cooper and Ludemann need to perform this game you'd think.

What we've seen of Raph at state level isn't Raph though. I'd be very surprised if in his previous stint he wasn't explicitly told to play with caution and blunt the new ball. He's an aggressive minded batsman - and I hope in this stint he's allowed to play with freedom. He's a very, very good player I reckon.

Thoughts on Valente? Tough initiation but settled.

Ludeman has to go - and I was once one of his biggest supporters- but good players don't get bowled and he gets knocked over too regularly - his technique has been well and truly rooted by someone- as a kid he was technically perfect

Even his first couple of years here he was pretty sound, something has gone horribly wrong.

Valente stays purely on lack of options, Andrews in too. Who is the next keeper in line ?? Carey and Keath are knocking very hard at the door.

The keeping one is a bit controversial.

Harry Nielsen (son of the boss) has been keeping in the Future's team. The only other keeper in the squad. Is a good prospect but is only young. Not ready for Shield cricket yet I would think and hasn't set the world on fire at that level this season.

Better immediate options like Alex Carey have been playing Future's as a batter-only.
