It is a trait of Jack Redden to start the season slowly. Wait until he cranks it up and this thread will look silly.

He is one of the few players that I have seen, despite the numerous clangers, deliver long, flat balls perfectly to Browny's advantage on a semi-regular basis over the last few seasons. His general disposal needs work but he has definitely still got a pretty high ceiling on his skills to go with his workrate. Whether he is starting to push past the age where he can get close to that ceiling is debatable, but there are plenty of players who didn't hit A grade/elite status until 27+ and their development curves haven't been to dissimilar.

Yep, I'm hoping for there to be a Jobe Watson or Dane Swan effect at some point in Reddo's career.

How old is Redden these days? 22-23? Should we be happy that he is a role player or should we expect him to become a match-winner?

He is at the age where you would expect to see the men separate from the boys. Does he have it in him to make the next step and become an a grader? I'm not sure he has all the tools but I am
