At least Geelong's draft is keeping some surgeons in business. We have 5 guys still on our list from this draft and 4 of them are yet to play a competitive match at any level this year. Since this draft geelong has played 108 afl matches meaning Menzel, Vardy and Cowan could've played up to 342 games between them up until now. Yet at both vfl and afl level they've in total combined for 130 games meaning they're fit to play about 38% of the time. Actually since the end of 2011 they've played a combined 32 games at either vfl or afl level out of a possible 174 meaning they've missed over 80% of possible matches through injury.

Fyfe and Talia clear standouts of this draft. Both should be AA this year.

hah Talia is one of the most limited players in the draft. Gunston shits on Talia as a standout of the draft. Talia wouldnt go top 10 if this draft was redone, I would take Jack Frost at pick 50 than Talia at pick 2

Not really, Gunston is far from a standout. Too skinny to be a KPF and has the benefits of being in a good team. Downhill skier. Quality KPF don't grow on trees and you do realise that Talia has improved his game and disposal/mark averages every year?

Like I said Talia is a limited player and Gunston is far more a standout than Talia. FB like taggers are the most limited players on the list, its far easier to be a FB when you can just about wrestle with your opponent and not give away free kicks. Talia doesnt intercept attacks or create, he simply punches the ball over the line and allows the ball to be kept in the opposition f50.

You don't have to under rate Gunstan because another poster has under rated Talia. Gunston kicked 6 in losing side on the weekend - surly downhill is when you only kick goals when winning?? 11 goals in last year’s finals series - he was close to Norm Smith. No way is he a downhill skier.

I would take Talia in front of him but the gap is not very big between the two.

I thought it would be pretty hard to week in week out beat the power forwards and concede at most 1 goal a game. He is 22 and he already is one of the KPD. He is our number one intercept player this year and do you expect defenders to rack up big possession tallies?

Talia's a good FB but he isnt in the Gibson, Taylor, Thompson and McPharlin class

What are you doing?? Thompson is 28 and made his AA debut at 27, McPharlin is 32 made AA at 30 and Gibson is 30 and has never been selected.

Why the hell are you comparing a 21 year old Key back with mature experienced defenders??

He turns 23 and given he competes with them for AA its quite relevant to what was said above. Guys like Frost, May, Mcdonald and Hooker went late in their draft and fill the FB position as well as Talia. Whereas players like Fyfe, Martin, Gunston etc rarely go outside the top 10 ergo a top 2 pick for a stopper is a waste.

Adelaide supporter says Fyfe and Talia are the standouts.
Richmond supporter says Fyfe and Martin are the standouts.

Can't we all agree that everyone is biased and that Fyfe is the only true 'standout'.
(I'm biased too but we all know Fyfe is the best in this draft)

You must be so disappointed in Daniher. He is no where near as good as Buddy. At least Talia was good early and won the rising star award.
