You never know? He might stay a 15-20 poss 1.5-2 goal a game player. Or he might become a 30+1 player or maybe he becomes a freak 30+1.5-2 player. I'm just saying players don't always follow a standard trajectory.
Made the AA squad last year and was the 2nd ranked player in the AFL before he got injured this season...
By whose metric was he the 2nd ranked player in the AFL after round 4?
He averaged 21 disposals, 1 goal, 103 ranking points a game.
Which is funnily enough a similar enough stat line to Thomas' in 3 x the sample size this year.
Any player can stagnate. No player in this group has the sample size (other than Walsh) to confidently state they can't, including Butters. Butters has had 7 x 20+ disposal games vs Thomas' 5 (4 in the last 6 games) in their 40-50 games so far.
