Id say Zak Butters has been better than Thomas over the course of his career but I’m probably selecting Thomas ahead of him as the second best mid in the draft behind Walsh.

Butters small frame worries me as he goes in as hard as anyone in the comp and worry that his body won’t hold up long term.

Hard to know where to splice the King twins given it’s so hard to compare KPPs with mids.

I could also be harsh on Smith given he isn’t current getting midfield minutes but looks a very complete player.

My top 6 is:

1. Walsh
2. B.King
3. M.King
4. Thomas
5. Butters
6. Smith

Have all these guys as pick 1 level talents.

7. Rozee
8. Sturt

Think the above 2 are the only ones capable of catapulting themselves into the top 6. Some would have Rankine in there as well but I’m not a big fan of his.

I think you are also under selling Lukosius. He can look laconic and bruise free at times, playing in the Suns backline wouldn't be too much fun either, but his skills are elite and he's 195cm. Put him in a decent side and he could be anything.

My Redone first round based on what they've achieved so far, with weightings given to games played, position played, importance to team, who they play for and comfortability at the level:

1. Sam Walsh
2. Ben King
3. Max King
4. Bailey Smith
5. Zac Butters
6. Jack Lukosius
7. Connor Rozee
8 Nick Blakey
9. Isaac Quaynor
10. Xavier Duursma
11. Tarryn Thomas
12. Izak Rankine
13. Jordan Clark
14. Riley Collier-Dawkins
15. Jye Caldwell
16. Ned McHenrey
17. Liam Stoker
18. Jackson Hately
19. Xavier O'Hallorhan
21. Sam Sturt
22. Eli Smith
23. Jez McLennan

Other than your terrible list that’s a good effort

Fair comment. Maybe I’m underrating his type of player but to me forwards and gun mids are just so much harder to find than intercept 3rd talls.

Maybe I’m underrating guys like T.Stewart, Ridley, Sicily and Lever though. Probably should be at least in the Rozee category.

Let people be up and about after a 20+ disposal, 4 goal game from a 21 year old you big bunch of wet blankets.

You'd think North players have to win a Brownlow before you're even allowed to rate them.

Most people have celebrated the performance as well as his rich vein of form. I don't think querying whether he's the next GAJ or ranking him after a few others who have been better is being a "wet blanket".

What part of that poster explicitely posting "I'm not comparing him to Gaz" made you think they were comparing them to GAJ? The part where they said the exact opposite?

Wet blanket, like I said.

Literally no one said that.

Not sure you understand what literally or explicitely (lol) mean.
When he's fully developed he may be a 1.5+ goal per game midfielder. The only genuine midfielder to be a 1.5+ goal a game mid in the last 30 years is Gablett Jnr (he did it 3 times) and in two of those seasons he won the Brownlow.

I'm not sure you understand much at all. Thanks for literally (and explicitly) proving our point.

You come in making claims that North supporters said Thomas was the next GAJ, and your supporting evidence is a post where that didn't happen

At least make something up if that's the path you're going to go down lol

At least your spelling is improving. Next lesson: Comprehension Skills 101.

Yes, because posting a comment that literally backs up my point and proves my use of literally in the first instance correct means I don't understand the word.

But please, point me to where any North fan said he's the next GAJ, as you said, and I'll concede I'm wrong.

Max King

Ben King

Sam Walsh

Zac Butters

Connor Rozee

Super strong draft, when compiling the list I was thinking of how the players would preform 2022 and beyond and not what they've achieved up until this point.

1. Sam Walsh
2. Ben King
3. Max King
4. Bailey Smith
5. Connor Rozee
6. Tarryn Thomas
7. Jack Lukosius
8. Zak Butters
9. Isaac Quaynor
10. Nick Hind
11. James Rowbottom
12. Izak Rankine
13. Jacob Koschitzke
13. Xavier Duursma
14. Nick Blakey

After this it gets really blurry for me so I won't make any judgements

Kosi jumping 40 spots in 18 games having swapped from defence to forward is impressive.

Starting to look like a great draft for us with Rowbottom, McInerny & Blakey all looking 200+ gamers at the moment.

It's crazy how good that top 15 or so looks already.

Is there a more blindingly-white flag than correcting spelling? It'd be less effort for you to just post "I've got nothing"

You have a low level of spelling and comprehension. That's relevant when showing you that you've misread multiple posts.

Which part don't you understand?
Just because someone is comparing Thomas to one aspect of someone else’s game (in this case GAJ), that doesn’t mean they’re comparing him to that guy, or implying that they believe he’ll be as good as him.

They’re just pointing out how rare it is to be posting those numbers in that particular aspect of the game.

For someone who is bagging someone else for their comprehension skills, yours aren’t looking that flash, just quietly.

Your entire argument now is based on a typo I made on my phone while taking a shit. You're hoping that by focusing on this, we'll all forget that this entire conversation started by you claiming North supporters think Thomas in the next GAJ. When asked to back this up, you quoted a post that didn't make this claim, and then you turned around with this new spelling bee thing.

I know it's the Carlton way to capitulate under pressure, but I never knew the culture extended to its supporters.

I'd take Zac Butters, Sam Walsh then Tarryn Thomas as 1, 2 and 3.
