It really was a pretty poor draft year wasn't it. Only other reasonable players are Raines (now he's become a decent tagger) and Zac Dawson (I feel sick calling him reasonable).

Brock McLean, Farren Ray and Michael Johnson are all much better players than Dawson. Johnson would be a chance for first round.

North's worst ever draft
Not the only ones in that category. There were no winners out of this draft. It was completely woeful.

In all seriousness I'd say the draft winner was Carlton. And that's mainly because they got lucky to pick up Stevens in the pre-season draft and traded their 2nd rounder for Heath Scotland. Walker would normally be a massive fail at #2 but in this draft he's one of the best picks in the top 10.

West Coast did alright with Waters and Butler.

Geelong had a horrid draft with such quality pick ups as Mark Blake, Kane Tenace, Cameron Thurley and Matthew Spencer. Yet that's still probably a better draft than the likes of North Melbourne and Hawthorn!
