I said he still can't kick for shit I don't miss THAT part of his game! Ebert was a horrible kick when he was here and is probably close to top 10 in the league for clangers this year ! He would be on par with priddis this year for clangers ! If I'm right then it's you who looks the fool after your dribble !

Elbert's overall ball use, his run and carry, his ability to damage the opposition with the ball have improved enormously each of the last 2 years. Plenty of times this year he has run, bounced and then kicked long to set up goal scoring attempts. Does he occasionally still shank a kick? Yes, as does almost every player in the AFL. Given the role he plays and the possessions he gets/damage he does his kicking is now fine. It's not elite but its fine.

He's an excellent player we should have fought harder to retain.

I'm happy to put my knowledge of Ebert and footy up against yours.... I suspect it'll be a short contest.

People who come on and dribble about Eberts kicking or pace or whatever based on things he did and perceptions he created as an 18 and 19 year old need to move on. He is a very good 23 year old midfielder that' we would be much better off having. If it makes you feel better to point out a couple of average kicks in one game then go for it. It suggests you don't really know much about Ebert or footy though.

I never said he wasn't a good midfielder or that I'm glad he went to port at all I wish we still had him just his kicking is still shit . His goal kicking not bad but his field kicking is horrible at times even under no pressure and all I said that I don't miss that part of his game ! Look at his kicking efficiency he one of the worst at port and it was the same here so don't go round on your I love Ebert band wagon and tell me he is a great kick because that is just false ! And my point in the first place was about how his horrible turnovers against Geelong cost them !

Well, I'll agree to disagree. Cos frankly your opinion is bollocks and not worth wasting time on.

Ebert has impressed me immensely in the games i've seen recently. Pretty bummed he's gone to be honest. Why have we failed to develop youngsters properly in recent years? It's very concerning.

It seems that by virtue of Dustin Martin being a complete f**kwit, we've missed out on what could've been a very beneficial trade. Could D.Swallow be lured away with pick 6? Yarran with our second, Yeo a straight swap for Smith (reckon he needs a new club or coach to fulfil his potential).

When he did the hammy i wasn't 100% sure..and also we would have to use our first pick as Conca did like being at the Tigers and he would want to make sure it was a fair trade. If we can not get Yarran for a 2nd round pick i say we just get him next year cheaper and go for Yeo with our 3rd round this year. Also we should roll the dice and take Gartlett as he will be something special.
