Good point. That remains to be seen. I believe West Coast have the cap space, right location (WA) and strong need for Conca that would satisfy him enough to name us. But our lack of senior coach gives other clubs time to get in, I guess. Fair enough that you would want a good return for him, but players going home generally shaft the club they leave one way or another. Best outcome for you would be if he stayed.

Ebert still can't kick for shit ! 2 horrible kicks clangers in the last quarter that resulted in Geelong scores . I don't miss that part of his game at all . In his last season he was a liability in the midfield for us with his kicking .

If Conca named West Coast and we were prepared to make a large offer then you'll end up dealing with us because that's just what happens. If our best offer is 24 and a player or similar then maybe that gets done or maybe he just walks into the draft.

I'm not saying his value is that, I'm just saying that's what might happen.

With that in mind, Freo have some advantages. Their first pick will be mid teens and they don't need it. In addition they have some young fringe players with talent.

So if Conca is happy with either WA club, Freo may get you a better deal than WC

I think this gets forgotten in all the flurry of draft pick talks. The player must actually agree to play for the club. Player does have a degree of control over his future (I say degree because if it comes to PSD, then that control is negated). Once he elects a club it is then up to that club and his present club to nut out a deal.
