But do Kane Cornes, Gary Lyon, John Ralph, Matthew Lloyd and Tom Morris rate him though?

Kind of Hope they Don't

He probably around 350k of our salary cap already, such a dud. I don’t know why we are going to draft him

Just when things couldn't get worse lol

Rivals are analysing the intriguing athletic testing of Collingwood’s NGA recruit Reef McInnes after he peeled off the fastest 20m sprint time of any players across Australia.
McInnes is eligible for the Pies in their Oakleigh zone because his mother was born in the Philippines, with Collingwood already recruiting players of Fijian and Ghanaian heritage.

The 193cm inside midfielder could follow in the footsteps of Pies NGA recruits Isaac Quaynor and Atu Bosenavulagi, with predictions he could be selected around pick 15-25 in December’s national draft.

He played in a NAB League premiership with Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson last year for Oakleigh Chargers and will turn 18 on December 12, three days after the national draft.

But amid his slashing 2.80sec time for the 20m dash, he was also last in the 2km time trial so needs to work on his fitness.

Collingwood would have to match a bid for McInnes so is under no obligation to recruit him but as an Academy pupil they will know how much of an upside he possesses.
\
AFL talent manager Kevin Sheehan said on Tuesday the Pies had an enticing package in McInnes if they chose to draft him.

“He played well last year with Anderson in Rowell in that premiership side. We saw a 190cm kid grow again into a 193cm package who ran the fastest time of anyone in the combine.

“He is a fantastic athlete who is capable of playing as a tall midfielder or at half back or half forward and he has a December birth so he has a lot in his favour.

“We didn’t get to see how he unfolded in his 18th year and given his athleticism he is the prototype of the modern player.”

“He needs to work on his stamina but having showed some promise in the AFL futures games last year, everyone wanted to see how he unfolded in 15 games this year but we didn’t get to see it.”

15-25? Hasn't that been his predicted range for a few months now?
Yeah, pretty much.

You just know Dodoro will be the one to bid lol But I don't think its as dire as the article makes it out to be. Wont be top 10. And we have a discount and will have the points.

Just another.. dig at collingwood daily mail.

I read it properly and does not reallty say much except that Clubs are Looking Closer at Him

Knowing Dodrio that Essendon would bid for him with 1 of there top 10 Picks

Doubt the Bumbers would use a top 10 pick for a bid. They have 6, 7 probably 8 from the Saad deal. If we do have to match a bid from them it would be pick 6 1401pts, pick 7 1644 pts or pick 8 1241 pts. I think we could muster these points to match with some later picks. The Bumbers may lose pick 7 or 8 through a Dunkley deal.

Do we reckon the Reef run a crap 2km time trial on purpose? Bit of a conspiracy theory I know, but perhaps we told him to settle down after the 20m sprint results?

Either way, l think he will be playing a bit of senior footy next year, so hopefully we do add him to our list...

I don’t think the results mean much personally. Reef has top 10 talent so I am sure there is going to be a club somewhere that has him rated around that mark. Whether a bid comes or not, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Hopefully the general trend for NGA holds true with Reef, he slides a bit as clubs haven't bothered putting too much time into him.

I think that much Change with the Changes for NGA.

As teams in the past where hoping IF they do a team a Favor then the Favor be Returned.

That won't happen now

The kid is a top 10 talent with the skills and physique we need and he is basically ready to go from day 1.
We will pay what we need to for this one.

Let's see, I still think 15-25 will hold true. Hopefully we get a pick in somewhere before the bid!

As things currently stand the differences after the discount

Pick 7 - 1316 points (our first round pick and our second round pick pushed back into the third round)
Pick 15 - 890 points (our first round pick getting a fourth round back OR if we can upgrade pick 16, our second round pick and our third round pick pushed back into the fourth round)
Pick 25 - 605 points (our second round pick and our third round pick pushed back 5-6 places)

It would be nice if we could upgrade our first round pick, but we've all been saying that for months. On an Essendon bid currently they have two first round picks; would they try and combine these to move into the top 3-4 to guarantee a highly rated forward would be available? A third top 10 pick looks likely for Saad, but that may go out the door for Dunkley.

Cant believe the continual negative slant on all things Collingwood.

I can believe it - it was obvious in the days leading up to this that the Pies were in the gunsight. A premeditated and deliberate slash and burn campaign is going on and far too many tanty merchants are buying it.

Ralph would have needed to do 13 seconds of research to find out that Reef's record was heavily wind-assisted and comes with an asterisk. His placing in phantom drafts has drifted over the last six months, not come in.

And I guarantee you that clubs will be looking much harder at his result in the 2km, rather than a 20m sprint.

Honestly, he's an interesting prospect, not the next Buddy Franklin.

The news is also two weeks old, but it fits perfectly in the 'crisis at Collingwood' narrative they're working so hard to keep alive.

OMG! The Pies have a fight on their hands as clubs identify our academy player who has been on everyone's radar for 18 months! Just when you thought things couldn't get worse!

It's John Ralf. His pastime is attempting to bait and antagonise Collingwood supporters. What did you expect from him? The king of Collingwood click bait. Thge minute I see he's wrote the article I don't open it. I wish Fox Sports listed their writers above the article before you open it. That way I could also bypass his sidekick, Tom Morris.

As they can't get any news from us, as we're currently running a fairly leak-proof ship, they put articles like these out to probe a response.

Yeah, hopefully those that do don't have picks before us.
