's presentation speech was the best I've heard. It was so reassuring to hear a player express such passion, pride and love for the club and guernsey. He conveyed his thoughts so beautifully and I'm sure it would have had a big impact on Reef and the younger boys. I always loved Wakelin as a player from the day he pulled on a Collingwood jumper and seeing him speak only adds to my admiration for the man.

The best part of the recent discussion is that there’s genuine competition of who“s our best youngster. And Nick Daicos hasn’t even been mentioned. Some real promise coming through the ranks. Exciting times.

From that particular draft I’d be very surprised if McInness, Henry and McRae didn’t all turn out to be at least solid/good long-term players. How good is the next question.

Reef looks a player. There definitely seems to be plenty more to come from him this season. He’s tough, tall, fast and moves well. If he can develop his tank further and stays injury free, I could see a Jack Steele
