I remember the same sort of talk about Daic's Snr right at the start.

How did that work out?
Nick is not his Dad, what you’re saying is completely irrelevant.

Outside of the obvious, looks the best of our kids now.

Get rid of Cameron/Cox and play a more mobile forward line like in 2018.

That draft will turn out very good for us. Reef, Finlay and Oliver will be great for us.

Curious as to your reasoning? His ridiculous talent aside, all reports have Nick as a natural leader, vocally directing his team mates etc, which is usually unheard of for a first year. Reef has an excellent head on his shoulders, and seems like he would be a good leader too, if his work ethic is as described by Fly, but it’s difficult to see him move past Nick on that front.
Reef speaks more impressively in an interview - not sure how much that matters though.

I think they will be AFL players, but most blokes who are great for a team are pretty damn good by their third season - that doesn't seem super likely at this stage.

DERRRPPP -

2 X Covid destroyed VFL football seasons means nobody who was drafted in the last 3 years has had any realistic chance of proving anything.

Number 35 for us looks handy.

Strangely, of the 3 best first year players I've seen - Judd, Selwood and Daicos - 2 of them had really interrupted final years in the juniors. Selwood didn't play in his under 18 year before the draft and Daicos had two really interrupted covid years.

Yes the elite players stand out. Number 35 also has the benefit of being unofficially in the Collingwood system for a while.
He does, but even in spite of that, he looks incredibly at home against people much more physically developed than he is, and he missed a heap of games over the two years.

Aaaaaaand you don't see that using superbly naturally talented and gifted players to prove your point invalidates your point???

I can see this is a one sided discussion.

Last response.

Moving on.

The adjective I was responding to was "great". So yes comparing them to greats seems appropriate to me.

I said I think they'll be AFL players but not great. It might happen, but Finn, Ollie and Reef are a long way from tracking towards greatness - Reef at least might have some of the attributes - the other two though? - hopefully they become good reliable senior players - that'll be a win

Reef does come across as a player IF he makes it at AFL level be in the Leadership Group

I’d be happy with a draw.

Agreed re the 3 however that only proves their individual talent and application.

My point was having your final two years in the juniors wiped out places you waaaaay behind your peers if you aren't gifted as those three obviously were.

Rusling could have been anything but his shoulders let him down. He even done his shoulder on the end of year trip with the boys after he retired, lol

I seem to recall he hurt his shoulder for the first time in a practice match collision with a rookie called Heritier, who at the time was Harry O. Rusling never got a good run at it.

Reef is showing a lot of AFL aptitude and nous for a three gamer. Not going the crow yet about the terrifying draft of 2020, but I will if he, McCreery, Henry and Ginni are locked into our best 22 at the end of this season.

Hope you are right because they are all goalkickers, which we desperately need

Reef looks ok. Just needs to kick straighter.

Mcreery is a jet. He has quickly become a vital part in F50.

but Ginnivan is a one trick pony atm. He needs to get it out of his game.
