Speaking of Dane Swan, he would have absolutely dominated in today's game with the current rules.

He's nothing like Swan. He's far more similar profile wise to De Goey than Swan. Impossible to project right now, because he clearly doesn't have the tank at the moment to be more than a forward/wing. His attributes both physical and technical are clearly as high as any youngster on the list though.

Do you mean the 6/6/6 rule that gives more opportunity and time to burst from centre bounces? Bucks and his team's forwards would have loved it too.

Yep he has a lot going for him, except for his fitness. Played 67%, and I was keeping an eye on him in the last and the poor kid was cooked.
Yep agreed. But that’s most kids in their first year. I tend to judge them on what they do once they have the ball or their ability to effect a contest this early in their careers. And he was impressive from that perspective. Stamina will come. He will be a star.

I find this concerning too. He has been a really poor endurance runner from the moment he arrived at the club. I’m not sure how fixable that is.

Are there many good examples of players who went from terrible runners to excellent? I’m struggling to think of many. Perhaps Petracca could be described that way? I’m hard pressed to name others.

Hopefully Reef gets there with the running because the rest of what he offers looks really promising.

Our boys look cooked in the last quarter of round 1 every year. That was round 1 for Reef. Let’s see how he backs it up.

No TRS this is Big Footy, he will be exactly the same for the rest of his career in every single game.

Cripps is another example.

I'm not too concerned. He might not become a good enough runner to play full as a full time mid, who links up and accumulates a heap of the footy, but I think the most damaging players are contested players who play stoppage and then get ahead of the ball where they also win contests. He should should develop the tank and skillset for that.

Disagree. That's the unhyped kid bigfooty trajectory. Reef will follow the hyped trajectory. He's a future superstar for the next 12 months regardless of how he plays, at which point if he's not a superstar, he's a spud who needs to be replaced by pick 33 of the 2022 draft, who you can just see is going to be a superstar and just needs games.

It's been a slow build. He had a few interupted preseasons. It's always been his knock. In his defense though the whole team was cooked in the last.

Cripps is the poster boy for improving your tank with hard work.

Banter level: Expert.

Was very high intensity game, finals like, will hold him in good stead. Being his first afl game its not surprising he was cooked by q4.

It'll show him where he needs to be with his fitness. Hopefully give him extra motivation at training to get there.
