I think Reef is going to be a top player for the Pies. He has the size, pace and poise required and loves to make a contest every time the ball is in dispute. When I compare his approach to AJ's there is a chasm between them when it comes to desire, desperation and determination.

There’s also a gulf in talent and X-factor between them - in AJ’s favour.

The bottom line is neither is yet the complete package. They each have some great attributes and also deficiencies. Neither is a Best-22 lock.

This is just not true. The only gulf is experience. Once Reef gets more of that he’ll rocket past AJ.

Big call, I don’t see the gap being as big as you seem to think.

Plenty of boys saved their mates under machine gun fire during the two world wars.
And plenty of brave boys died.
Footy isn’t war.

He's no star quite yet. Either is Carmichael.
Both need to show something in the senior rounds.
JC and AJ have given us a glimpse of what is potential.
JC has more skill than AJ. Think JC plays in R1 now Lippa is out.

Hard to tell who was better out of Oleg or WHE given both spent most of the match warming the bench.

Thought it was pretty clear cut but hardly a fair comparison given 1 is a veteran of the team and the other having his 1st real run at the club.

AJ has crazy skill. X factor and potentially better ATM. JC also looks very good to me. And he's younger which gives him a higher ceiling to be greater. Reef is another where anything is possible.
WHE is a great player and Oleg also has potential with his run.
Trust in Fly.

Reef was busy again tonight, showed his intensity and ability to get free and mark well. Also showed his weakness, with one goal and one OOB from set shots. AJ a much better kick. Hoping AJ hasn’t been put off by his demotion from the first team, as already looks a bit complacent / lacking motivation at the highest level. Bucks wouldn’t have taken too kindly to his attitude, let’s hope fly has more luck…

One goal in two quarters isn't too bad. And Elliott had some shockers, too.

I'm a bit of a fan. Hope he'll keep coming on.

Has a presence and composure which doesn't square with his lack of experience.

He been the Most Exciting Player during the Pre-Season Games for Me.

Looks very Promisng as a Forward but need to kick bit Straighter for Goal

I haven’t yet seen in Reef a leap, agility or mercurial dimension equivalent to AJ.
Ultimately it will be work rate that determines who gets the spot, and at this point it looks like Reef.

Reef has pace, good work rate, he does have agility. Not the leap of AJ probably because given he has been a mid its not something thats been a focus on his game. But he has good hands. Eventually hopefully he will evolve to be a forward-mid though. Similar to what Lippa does.
