His ground level game is what sets him apart from Johnson as displayed by the 2 opportunistic goals he kicked tonight and why he is my preferred option.

If he can continue to improve his overhead marking with added body strength and aided by experience in the coming seasons then even better.

Agree with not being left out of the team.

But I think we should develop him as a specialist key forward. Like a Charlie Curnow type.

If he improves his marking. His ground ball game and second efforts are excellent for his size. If he can catch in the air, he’ll be hard to stop.

Would like to see him start at some centre bounces. Has what it takes.
In time I hope this happens. Has always shaped as similar to DeGoey both in turns of development and also burst from the centre.

Will be a great replacement for Jamie, hopefully we find two key forwards to sit around him.

Also, don’t limit himself to a forward, he has some midfield traits and I’m sure he has some real aggression in there too he doesn’t show

I thought Reef was sensational tonight. His running was a sight to behold in the second term. He was up on the wing presenting or pressuring and forcing turnovers before rushing forward and having a big impact. His hands were clean and his attack on the ball fantastic. He makes a contest whenever the ball is in his vicinity. A big tick tonight.

Impressive tonight. Bodes well for his future. Ditto Frampton.
Billy was fantastic. He is always going to be the whipping boy for opposition fans and our own yet he looked very comfortable in defense. I heard a moron ring SEN on the way home. He said Collingwood only had 17 players on the field as Frampton may as well have not turned up. What game was the dickhead watching? King received some tiggy touchwood frees and with the number of opportunities which came his way, 3 goals was an average return. Frampton beat him a few times in one on one contests and used the pill well.

I thought he looked bloody dangerous overhead tonight. There were a couple of "almost" grabs in packs. They will be clunked in the near future. I just love his aggression and attack on the ball. He has a real talent for kicking goals over his shoulder and around corners.

Far from sensational but he played well. Needs to work on his body work because he got outmarked about half a dozen times, but he looks dangerous and is athletic. Needs to play every game

His running efforts were sensational. I watched him closely in the second term and he was everywhere. He kicked three goals while being double teamed and having far less entries to score from. King has many more opportunities and our defense was far less organized but all he managed was the same result as Reef. Yet the airwaves were filled with praise for King. Footy is a funny old game.

Combined with his tackling intensity and knowing when to spoil instead of trying to mark.
Hopefully he stays injury free as the spot is his to lose.

Agreed. He will be shown footage of him being worked under the ball and he will improve. He has the fundamentals and should develop well from here. He certainly has the potential and demonstrated that last night.

He really needs to finish 2024 with 20+ matches to his name to see what we have. I don’t know about his size alongside Mihocek and then what happens once McStay returns because it leaves us vulnerable to 200cm KPD’s. That said the St Kilda blueprint with Owens could be a winner with his ground level mobility.

Would have been 4 if Mihocek didn't rip the mark out of his hands

Ripping marks out of his hands I can live with. Spoiling Cox in the GF, and McStay in the Prelim, not so much.
