The club obviously believes in him as a key back to offer him a 2yr extension,
Hopefully he can get back before round 1 next season
ACL's dont always have to be 12 months. Usually around 9 if things go well? I'd expect he would be back in full training post christmas. No doubt he'll try to take Mcstay's road and be back as quick as possible.

It's a smart move. Collingwood get him without having to dig too deep and it builds loyalty with Reef and respect from others on the list. It also demonstrates to those that might be considering the Pies as a desitination that the club looks out for their own.
Reef was clearly best 22 so you don't throw that away. It's a win-win.

He could come back a beast. Plenty of time to work on the upper body. He was always going to get an extension

Agree and agree. Look how much stronger and a better athlete Mcstay came back from his. He can focus a lot in the gym and then increase his fitness once he is able to run.

Agree with the rest, but not clearly best 22. He was getting opportunity to become that but 2 pretty neutral games hadn't made it clear.

Agree - I don't think he was 'clearly' best 22, but was being given the shot at holding down the KPD post.

“While we are disappointed that we will be without Reef while he overcomes his ACL injury, we have been so pleased with his growth and development, especially through his move to the backline. We know he will bounce back from this setback to establish himself as a regular in our side.

Mcstay said he is gonna take him under his wing and look after him. Said he will make sure reef beats the markers in rehab that Mcstay went through. To do even better than him.

He won’t be alone through this.
Can see why McStay is in the leadership group.

Early days but I'd love to see Reef bulk up a bit and used in his old position as a third tall forward. He had his critics but to the eye I thought he delivered above average performances given the minutes played up forward. Always bobbed up for a goal or two. Who knows where Checkers and Membrey will be at in a year. And our third tall in defence dilemma may have been solved by then.
