Well I've been praying we'd get the English referee.
The reasoning might be slightly simplistic but it's occured to me that an English ref might be slightly more permissive towards our physical play

No, I wouldn't. In football, the referee is the law. In cricket, the umpire is the law. I don't question the officials. That's the perogative of Weather Boy "Drivel" Smith.
Every time we get a pommy ref we get ripped off they are still ****ed bout us beating them 3-1. In the confeds cup we had pom refs in our games against argentina and germany. ripped off big time.

God, as long as he does a better job than the last two who have no business ever pulling on a ref's jersy again. Especially the last one.

Firstly lets face it If Aus lose it will be because of the ref especially since he is English
His appointment is the best Aus could have wished for because he is the most lenient in the WC.He has reffed alot of the Aus players many many times so they will be fully aware of the way he refs .If you saw him the other night he put in the best performance so far letting the tackles happen and the game move .Its funny I remember when he first started in England he was absolutly revilled for being to strict yet as turned into the ref that let Rooney tell him to F off about 50 times in a short space of time

England stopped doing freindlies years ago we must have one of the worst recods going .Just think where they would be in the rankings if they did

Graham Poll - even though I think he's a twonk we couldn't have hoped for much better, he'll be more lenient on our style of play and familiar with our players.

Graham Poll is a decent ref and will allow the game to flow which is something our previous two main refs havent done so far in Game 1 and 2.
