So Neil s 29 in 2022. I thought he was younger. He very fine player but wasn't in the Bont class etc in the finals. Not that he would come to WC but even then I would not overpay for him.

Being contracted i can see Lions wanting a first rounder as a minimum.

He cost Lions Picks 6 , 19 and 55 for picks 30 + Neale.

As a Wickepin boy it was Pingelly and any of the arrogant tossers from the big smoke of Narrogin we hated.
As a Narrogin boy let's fight

Resolved in the traditional method from down that way?

"It's all news to us," Daly said.

"As far as we're concerned, he's got two years of his contract left and that's where it is at.

"I think the club will come out and make a statement sometime this afternoon once we've had a chance to speak to Lachie and work through it."

Seems like Brisbane are going to play hardball which is lovely to see

L.Neale situation is going down like Chernobyl over here.

Mess is out in public before the club were informed in any formal way and now Neale has gone into hiding without anyone able to get in contact with him.

Literally the day after the club was eliminated as well.

Whatever happens, I can't see there not being some bad blood between the parties involved as a result of this.

Surely there’d be a few players at Freo not that keen to have him back?? He bailed and chose Brisbane to try and get success, no family ties or anything, and now he comes crawling back?? I’d take him if we could get him for a reasonable price, which won’t happen, but surely we’d be talking to his manager just to suss him out??

Yeah if this turns out to be true its an absolute sh*thouse dog move by Neale getting his trade intentions out to the media before his club. If he were a West Coast player I would be pretty ropeable.

Dont think I would take him TBH. Besides having a history of being a turncoat, we need to rejig our gameplan and make plans to cover retirements like Kennedy an Hurn before we look to contend again. By the time we're ready reckon he will be on his last legs.

Edit: And he'll cost the farm, which we've already leased out to Geelong for Kelly.

Has to be true. News has been out there for a while now. Even if he's off partying somewhere his missus isn't, and they'd be in touch daily given she's heavily pregnant. Would take him 5 seconds to type a text to the club and let them know it's all BS. That clearly hasn't happened so what's out there is genuine.

Wonder where Ryan Daniels got his information. He’s generally pretty good in not going public with a story that has no genuine foundation so he’s obviously confident that the story is correct

Seems like there’s been rumours for a little while that his missus was keen to return to Perth but I doubt that alone would have been enough for Daniels to be so emphatic. So either someone at Fremantle has let it slip or Neale’s manager wanted it out there and told Daniels

This is the second time recently he’s tweeted something that nobody else has run with after he mentioned that Schofield was on the move to WCE as an assistant coach

We paid a small hobby farm for Kelly, Neil will cost sheep stations given the circumstances

Would be such a Freo thing if all of a sudden Fyfe announces he wants to head East to taste some sucess.

He has his destiny in his own hands, really. If he wants to taste success he should spend the off season down the park practising his goal kicking. Has had numerous chances to win games off his own boot and failed in front of the big sticks.

That's been his whole career though

He put those 2 shots out on the full in the first quarter of the 2013 grand final and cost Fremantle valuable momentum

Fyfe doesnt give a sh*t about anything other than Fyfe. He wont leave Perth because here he is a big fish in a small pond who can sell "F7" hats to the guppies.

When he retires I expect him to then move east for media training for a couple of years, then head back to WA to commentate alongside Pavlich during derbies.

A fair chunk of Towns players were the tough local farm boys unlike the pretty boy Wicky players.

Red Card given out in the first 10 minutes of yesterdays GF and thereafter a very clean game.

Very different from the 80s and 90's when a final had to be abandoned.

Would have been a few dissappointed Williams players who missed out sleeping with their sisters after yesterdays result.

Interesting messages regarding L.Neale.

Turns out it could just be a massive oversell by the media when his actual intention is to return and retire in WA in 2024 after his current contract is up.
the thickens plots again

As Denzel Washington said:
Don't read the media and you will be un-informed.
Read the media and you will be mis-informed.

Ryan Daniels doesn't get it wrong that often.

Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Ok struggling to keep up with messages coming in.

Picture I'm getting is L.Neale was happy to sit out contract despite wife Jules pushing for relocation due to baby on the way.

Somehow the story has blown up in the media and caught everyone by surprise including Neale himself.

Seems now an opportunity could be there however to make a trade during this period if Neale is willing and Fremantle can provide x2 first round picks.

Lions want certainty today, because they are about to throw the kitchen sink at L.Parker if Neale says he wants to leave.

Fremantle however want to retain a top 10 pick in this draft.
