Clayton Oliver aside, I'm fine with a Melbourne flag. It's been a six decade wait for the poor bastards, and they've never really inconvenienced the Eagles enough to annoy me.

If they win it this year then we will be hearing about it from this guy for the next six decades.

The one consolation to a potential Melbourne flag would be that they won’t do it in front of their precious MCC.
But on the flip side, that BODE Gary Lying doesn’t deserve an ounce of joy for the rest of his miserable life.

In the early days the way some of their players racially vilified Chris Lewis , is a sh*t stain on their Club that I cant ever forget or forgive ........ so **** em I don't want to see them raise the Cup.

Oh yeah, the Todd Viney biting thing as well. I completely forgot about that. Yeah, fair enough, **** 'em.

Lions could come out of this well if they get some first rounders for him. IF they then take Luke parker as a free agent they can still have some decent first rounders to draft young mids to replace Zorko.

L.Parker is about to re-sign with Sydney according to G.Healy; willing to accept less money to be a one-club player.

J.Dawson likely to request a trade to Port as soon as the Power's season is concluded. His departure will allow the Swans to keep L.Parker and G.Hewitt and focus on the massive amount of re-signing they have to manage in 2022.

Lions weighing up if S.Ross could be taken RFA to play on the wing and give H.McCluggage and Z.Bailey more time on ball next year.

Brisbane also potentially setting up their list for a dynasty if they get this off-season right.

Already have x2 first round picks, likely will do a pick swap with the Bulldogs (Bulldogs R1 2021 with Lions R1 2022) that will suit the upcoming F/S situations of both clubs. Plus whatever comes through from the L.Neale trade back to Fremantle. Likely to end up with x4 first round picks this year.

They have two F/S in 2022 that are shaping as first rounders as well - W.Ashcroft is a potential no.1.

That is six first round picks being added to a squad that already has a great deal of developing talent coming through - D.Robertson, C.Rayner, K.Coleman, Z.Bailey, B.Starcevich, H.McCluggage, J.Berry and E.Hipwood are all aged 23 or younger.

Good chance the Cats beat Melbourne imo. That two weeks break is no good and Geelong nearly got them last time.

Melbourne have only had one week off thus far.

The additional week off before the Grand Final could end up being an issue however.

If Melbourne or Port progress, they will be playing just their second match in four weeks, placing them in the same situation as recent Qualifying Final winners since the pre-finals bye came in in 2016.

Prior to the introduction of the pre-finals bye in 2016, 17 of the previous 18 Preliminary Finals (94%) from 2007-15 had been won by a team which had won its Qualifying Final, had a week off, then took on a more-fatigued opponent that had been playing every week for months.

Since the pre-finals bye came into effect, there have been 10 preliminary finals. The record of qualifying final winners in them is 4-6. Thus, the win ratio has fallen from 94% down to just 40%.

So effectively, Melbourne and Port can be expected to win this week, but should an upset occur then Geelong or the Bulldogs will probably take the premiership.

Seems we are set for a Melbourne vs Port Grand Final with both teams lacking touch on the day.

Port to win a mistake riddled "thriller" in a scoreline of 50-40.

The two week break no good for me either, back to work on the 21st, **** you Gil. Best case scenario I get to listen to it on the radio. Of course this could become a positive depending on who wins.

Sonny Walters just rode past my house. Bit random

Did he instinctively dive from his bike when he saw you looking at him?

Hey Michael Walters here, just made a BF account.

Just went for a bike ride and said hey to everyone I rode past, gave a hello nod to some bloke on his driveway and the campaigner just stared at me with no return nod.

Anyway deleting my account now.
