I wonder what would tempt GWS into trading picks 4 & 5 as GWS are going to desperately want to replace top shelf quality with the absolute top shelf of this draft.

This jumper is a big reason why everyone I knew in the 90s thought Freo was a complete joke.

Yeah it’s ugly as sin and that’s the point. It’s a 90s throwback as a one off, and it’s ****ing glorious in that role.

If they wore it every game it would be embarrassing, but because they did and because it was they now have the luxury of bringing it out as retro gear once in a blue moon. It’s phenomenal.

If the Eagles ever did retro round ochre it’d sell out in a heartbeat despite being an absolute dogshit jumper to watch your team play in every week.

Sadly, Freo’s need to innovate and West Coast’s very comfortable, very conservative approach has led to this massive gap where they know what the modern footy culture is and West Coast brass still think it’s 1986. Freo fans were desperate for the 3D anchor as a throwback, and that’s a few years in a row they’ve done (and nailed) the throwback apparel.
