I wonder how many former Port players made it to senior coach level?

Primus, Dew, Hardwick and now Kingsley. Not bad for a club not yet 25 years old.

How many are from Freo? Justin Longmuir? Eagles only have Pyke maybe (and if you want to get cheeky, Sam Mitchell)?

Most people would consider Hardwick an Essendon player I think.

Yeah, you can see why Nisbett is pushing hard for the steady, stable approach. I back the concept as long as it's not used as an excuse to keep mediocre people in place. I'm happy with out assistant coaches but S&C needs a big shake up. I'm not sold on Simmo but it all comes down to how he adapts with hopefully a full team to select in rnd1 next year.

I sort of feel our development coaches are a bit of a jobs for the boys approach as well as a few other positions in the club. I'd really like more money to be spent there and in S&C. Of the line coaches i'm not overly impressed by Webster or Pratt now but it really is about how they motivate, what they provide to simmo and what simmo wants out of them. I would rather pay for a quality full time development coach who also coaches the beagles than our current development coach setup. Mcgovern and Hurn have basically coached the backline for years, Kennedy did the same in the forward line and Nicnat through the ruck.

Also not sold on gavin bell as footy manager and would prefer someone else in that seat.
