That’s fair enough. But in time, well I see it now, we just weren’t ‘there’ this year. It is so hard to go B2B in this “competition”. I think many factors hurt us especially at the end of the year. Settle down campaigners. 2019 ended badly, we got found out a bit by top teams and had a tricky-ish fixture playing every top 4 side away, and only 1 at home. we're already 2nd favourites for the 2020 flag. TK and a full season with NN could help us become more dynamic.

Watching this makes me feel a bit disappointed, we have been the only side to really push Richmond during the second half of the year, but we fritted away top 4 and then the Rioli debacle finished us off.

I suspect Collingwood fans would have similar thoughts, but I think we are better.

I’m in the same boat. Feels nothing like 2016 and 2017 where we were really nowhere near it and was a bit meh. This season we missed a big opportunity just looking at Collingwood, GWS and Geelong who were “better” than us.. and Richmond, who are clearly the best side but beatable if we’re at our best. Going to take me right up until round 1 to forget it I reckon.

To be fair on GWS, they aren't that good.

They aren't a top 4 quality, just fell into the GF on the back of the other decent teams falling over due to injury etc.

What injuries did the WB, Brisbane and Collingwood have?
GWS have got more than their fair few out.

I reckon Richmond would do this to any other side this year with the possible exception of us.
