No reason why we won't come out hard too. If NN dominates Stanley we've already won half the match.
Oh of course! We definitely need to come out hard and be ready...
I assume they will bring Stanley in... but not sure how his confidence levels will be. Big ask for their coaching staff to build it up (sans Scott because as we know, he would never admit making a mistake).

Both top 2 teams had fairly soft draws this year due to where they finished in 2018, so probably not much between the top 5-6 teams. A bit like 2016.
This is where the fixture equalization is clearly not working. Cats and Lions are the weakest top 2 in a long time. Both could realistically be out in straight sets.

Then you look at the middle pack and bomber and bullflogs that made it in. Both got absolutely reamed. Clearly the top 6 are easily a level above the rest.

Not really.

There has been many games where rucks dominate and their team gets flogged.

Its all about field position these days.

If Nic is dominating he needs to turn it into i50s and forward momentum.

Not win the tap and break even/Cats win it back.

True, but that Natanui - Gaff - Shuey trio is one we didnt have last finals series. That's gotta be pretty fearsome.

Historically we don't get too many prime time TV games. A potential two 'extras' in one year will see us break the bank.

This Friday night fixturing is a rort anyway.

Historically Collingwood have been the big winners - even when underperforming.

McGuire & the Pies reamed the AFL a beauty when, they 'offered' to participate in more Friday night games, play away games at the G to help struggling clubs and so on as trade off for the adopted a better 'home final' rule for inter-state teams.

Loved how McQuire made himself and the Pies out to be heroes when all they were doing is increase marketing presence and the dollars rolled in the back door.

And, just in case anyone didn't know/suspect, on yesterdays ABC Sportstalk Malthouse stated AFL house was not willing to stand up to McQuire. For further evidence see 'alternate strip' debacle.

Why? What's McGuire gonna do? Pull Collingwood out of the AFL?

The AFL have no reason to be scared of Eddie. If they piss him off, what can he do? Quit his position? Boo-frigging-hoo, his club is Collingwood. Its not like they're gonna collapse without him.

AFL is a boys club and Eddie is definitely one of the boys. There is still very much a feel about AFL (and Gil) that what is good for Collingwood (and other big Melbourne clubs) is good for the AFL.

Malthouse has an axe to grind.

Also in breaking news AFL looks after the big clubs.

Feels like GWS has it easier than us despite winning 2 less games, Brisbane & Coll seems like an easier path to the GF. Hopefully if we get past Geelong, only losing to Richmond by a goal at the MCG in round 22 will give us some confidence.

GF Magpies

I reckon our first two rounds are easier than theirs. Would rather play Magpies than Tigers in Prelim, but we aren't playing just to make a Grand Final. Any team who wants to win the flag is going to have to beat the Tigers at some stage or another, whether it is a Prelim or Grand Final doesn't really matter.

If we have to travel three weeks in a row, I'd prefer not to have a trip to Brisbane in there. Melbourne is closer.
