My memory is sketchy and I can't be arsed going back, but were people really upset we didn't go for McCarthy? I never saw the attraction myself, and we're so good at developing talls and forwards we should never be trading hard for them.

Bennell I'd have taken a punt on as he was a free hit. Hogan I wouldn't have touched with a barge pole, no surprise at all how that panned out.

He was in good form at GWS (before sitting out that year), I remember plenty that were upset (thanks Biggie) that we weren't at least making enquiries. Turns out there was a good reason for that, his attitude was terrible and the years since have proven that.

Bennell, no thanks. Not even with a late draft pick. Maybe if we were doing a Melbourne and using a mid-season pick after he worked his ass off on the training track and stayed out of trouble, sure, but at the time Freo moved for him nothing had shown he was willing to work for it (and fresh off Gold Coast controversies) - and he was also injury plagued to boot.

Oscar Allen > Naughton

I don't mind posting on match day threads on the main board now and then. What matches I post on depends on what's on tv at the time and nothing else. After ten years or more on big footy I was just checking my ignore list and after last night's Richmond v Port game my ignore list consists of
- one wierdo obsessed with Cousins and Kerr, the team he follows is unknown .
- one Clive Palmer loving Port Adelaide
- one bulldogs supporter
- two Collingwoods
- And nine Richmonds .Those Richmonds are wack jobs.

Three flags in four years has sent the Richmond supporters into a frenzy. 35 years of failure beforehand will do that to a person I guess.

Definetly not playing with a full deck of cards at Richmond supporter land .There are a few sevens and eights missing .
Also not sure if many People care and why winning the 2020 contrived covid cup mini carnival is a big deal to them. But that is another story I suppose.
A lot seem to see 2020 as their validation that they are miles ahead of anyone else, since 2017/19 didn't convince everyone.

In fairness they feel insecure as deep down they know winning against interstate teams at the mcg is like rooting a hooker

you dont get to claim you scored - you just blew your load but its not the same

Give Toby Greene the permanent captaincy.

If I learnt anything from the Amazon Documentary, Cogs shouldn’t be captain of the club. Too introverted, shy, and doesn’t have the balls to give his charges a spray when needed.

How depressing would being a GC player be. You lose a tight one at home and the crowd goes wild singing the opposition club’s song and cheering them off.

Selwood has added blatant throwing to his game this year. Hopefully the umps have finally wised up to it after calling that last one there.
