Random shower thought, how many vic teams do you think of having a home ground advantage at Marvel or the G outside of Richmond / the Cats. Maybe its actuallyfeline based. They say it for just about every interstate team, but i don't really think of too many vic teams having that geelong at the alphabet or tigers at the G fear factor.

I don't really buy into the "true" home ground advantage argument that Vic supporters talk about. Think of it this way, if Fremantle were a proper opponent like current say Richmond let's say, would you prefer to play them at Optus for 10 games straight or alternate against say, North Melbourne at Marvel every second week.

Even with a choice against a lesser opponent away, I would choose the "neutral" home venue against a potentially superior opponent every time and I think the players would too.

Long-distance travel is always on top with players missing whole days and nights of the week. I don't even think that Alphabet stadium would be that bad for the Vic based clubs outside of Geelong.

All sides have quarters/periods where they let the opposition score a few or ruin what looks set to be a monstrous win. Plenty of time left in this season to bury a few teams, if we’re good enough.
Looked at our matches for the season today. Our 1st game against the lions is round 23, play how many other teams x2. And with any luck Melbourne will have remembered who they are with the 3rd last game of the season. If my memory of the games from the app holds up.

So our draw. X2 games against:
Pies
Freo
Doggies
Crows
Saints

The chance to have at least 1 win against every team in the comp this season still...

I said before the pies game first to 80 wins.

I was right.

On SM-G925I using BigFooty.com mobile app

Power up 43 at 3QT. Up 41 with 2:45 left in the game. Won by 28.

Eagles up 41 at 3QT last night, won by 27.

Dogs led by 67 points, 70-3, before letting it come in to 34 points. Kicked away again to win by 62 to be fair to them.

We are more reliant on ladder position for favourable finals fixtures than Victorian clubs. Even if it doesn't make us any worse than others in not putting teams to the sword, the implications are worse. 3 times in 5 years missed top 4 on %.

So Brad flew out of Melbourne say Friday, to Perth, and will either go back to Melbourne early next week or straight to Adelaide where they at next?

I'm surprised the club let him come to Perth

Nor do I, because then Fremantle would have the same advantage and the same record. They don't, so it can't just be the ground.

But these are the same Vics that talk about how hard the road trip to Perth is while refusing to acknowlege that this must make the road trip from Perth to Melbourne just as much of a disadvantage.

Basically anything that gives them a chance to whinge about how unfair it is to have to play us is a hard-boiled fact that never needs to be examined or the further implications explored.

Yeh thought this but they do have a 10 day break. Probably told them to get away clear ya heads and sort some shit out

Shades of Willie Rioli in the Grand Final in that first goal to Freo.

Looks to me like there’s some league wide folding required.
