I’d be filthy if I was Jack Ross or Kamdyn McIntosh. Both pulled from the VFL Grand Final as standby for Graham and Broad while Pickett played a full game.
Then Pickett gets selected anyway so Ross and McIntosh both miss out on playing in a VFL Grand Final and an AFL Grand Final.
Good luck to Pickett but this reeks of Richmond trying to get more media attention and more press as they are very confident in beating GWS. “Hey look we finally gave this guy his shot and it was a debut in a winning GF and the first GF debut in 67 years”

Pickett debuting in a GF smacks a bit of (unnecesaary) desperation for mine. They have Ross and McIntosh held over from the VFL GF who are much more direct replacements for Graham. Surely they just back themselves in with what has worked so far?

Maybe they think he is better to handle some of the punches GWS might throw on the weekend. If Greene goes after Pickett, he'd wanna watch out.

It’s arrogance and good media coverage, nothing more. The gap between Graham and the replacement player is going to be what? 2%? Never the difference between a win and a loss in any case, might as well pull the trigger on the player who will earn you the most plaudits.

Possibly underselling Graham a bit, was one of their better players in their last GF. 3 goals and completely shut out Sloane after half time.
To that extent, Pickett is probably more likely to be able to replace the goals, but one of the other two looks a more ready replacement for a shut down role.

I don't like seeing players debut in grand finals. If they get a premiership medal, they haven't earnt it the same way most other players have. They might not appreciate the same way either. I know Pickett has quite a story but still

Tend to disagree, purely on the fact I think Pickett is a ripper player and I'd be picking him ahead of Ross and McIntosh on merit irrespective of story.
Just so happens the stars have aligned for him to enter the side at the exact right time. Good for him, I say.
Don't understand why GWS are being made to wear their white clash strip.
