Why would they choose this game? Couldn't choose a worse one to showcase the game... bottom 2 teams with horrible skills

How can that be? Why would the AFL allow/choose a game like this to be "history making" as far as marketing goes? Didn't the last game between these clubs last year have 1 - 2 goals each at half time?

Just watched "The round so far" with Cornes and some other bloke on afl.com, Cornes alluded to some more bad news coming out of the Crows shortly, no idea what it might be but jeez they've had a bad run.

Alarm bells for Freo surely. I know they’ve got Fyfe to come in, but this Crows team is as bad any in living memory, and they’re carving them open. 1.8, and countless good opportunities lost by laughable skill errors.

May well win, but if this is who Freo are, they’re miles away from being miles away.

1.8 from simple shots dead in front - you wouldn't believe it. We should beat them by plenty and more. Freo aren't much better. What a terrible game - skills are atrocious.
Until they turn around and kick 8.1

It may have something to do with the Sam McClure article that came out today regarding their preseason camp. Apparently it exposes exactly the stuff the players were put through.

Today's story reminded me of the Herald article in the week leading up to 2015 GF.

It looks like the crows aren't even close to the bottom of the barrell yet, they're still insular, defensive and paranoid.

Looking back, it's astonishing that we were able to turn it around and rebuild our club in 3 years after the issues we had in the mid 00's.

Here's the McClure story for anyone wanting to read:
