How can the mail be strong yet in the same sentence you're stating it could be bullshit?
Let's be honest, there is no mail. Just people making crap up and quite possibly trying to make it sound like they know something.
Ablett had 2 first rounders didn't he?? Its not too far to stretch then that the "supposed" number 2 CHF in the game could attract the same regardless of form. Mainly due to the fact that there are a plethora of elite mids but very few elite fwds.
Though Ablett is in a category of his own.
Either way i'd rather sure up the team for the future with that cap space. Possibly recruit one of the forwards from GC or GWS and get Paine in the best 22. Look at Witts, Gault and Ceglar and see if they can fill a hole next year.
The sky is not falling if we lose Cloke.

Is it really any different??The comp for losing a player to free agency won't be the same as the comp for losing players to GC and GWS.
When the new teams took players there was nothing teams could do to replace them, with FA, teams can use the cap space to chase other FA players.
I wonder if everyone who went nuclear on Bomber Thompson vis a vis Ablett will display the same level of moral righteousness about this??Just announced on 3AW that Bucks and Trav are no longer talking. Wonder who took their bat and ball and went home?? This could be another Ablett - Thompson situation.

The compensation thing is bullshit. As someone said earlier, some chump in AFL castle decides subjectively what clubs receive. As the expansion side compensation has shown, their formulas suck. You can't rank players in an orderly fashion, we know, we have tried hundreds of times!
Just announced what exactly? (didn't hear it myself)
Did some observer of training say they noticed some terse body language? Was it a listener that called in to spread a bit of goss?
Even so- as a coach that demands everyone to be focused and team-oriented, Bucks is well within his rights to give Trav the cold shoulder. This whole thing is a circus. What's worse, it's an avoidable one.
Thanks for that.Neil Mitchell just over an hour ago made the statement that the two are no longer talking.

..... LOL -it must be true then. He he such a Collingwood lover!

Would it surprise you it communication between the 2 has broken down? Buckley must be extremely unhappy with A) his poor form and B) this on going distraction - which now will be with the Pies until the end of the year.

A) obviously unhappy
B) again obviously unhappy
but since when does A) + B) = not speaking anymore? Coaches are always unhappy when players are out of form -doesn't mean they stop talking to them. Buckley's not negotiating the contract. Mitchell is having a guess like everyone else.
I've a tendency to demonise Cloke here, but I'm going to try and play devil's advocate:
1) He may of had a strong relationship with Malthouse and was unhappy in how he left
2) He does deserve a pay rise. Since his last contract his form has been exceptional.
3) The current funk may be a direct result of the pay dispute.
4) Buckley strikes me as a my way or the highway type coach. It is possible that he introduced on field pressure to resolve the off-field problem.
5) David Cloke is not Travis Cloke, having watched "The Fighter" recently, it strikes me how an overbearing family can adversely affect a sporting career.
Still think Travis may of been the one to crack the sads though

....or Buckley - Malthouse situation.
