Still don't think he'll leave Collingwood. They've put talks on hold because their control freak president wanted to get the deal done before going to the Olympics. They know what they've got to offer - dispute seems to be around the performance criteria for a 5th year - that's pretty minor in the scheme of things. They'll work it out. Ed wants to come home and get the glory. The deal will be done toward the end of the H&A season, before finals so it can't be the elephant in the room during the finals campaign.

As for the suitors:
He's pretty much ruled out Freo. Plus David couldn't keep an eye on him over there.
Melbourne would be a silly move given that his prime will be the next 3 years.
Carlton, despite all the talk, has not made a bid.
Richmond, I would think may have a look, but again, no serious bid to date.

Let's just remember that Essendon tried a few years to get him over and did not. He eventually signed. He made a few enemies then too. He'll sign - end of the H&A season when Ed's back to take all the glory.

I understand.

In personal situations I often play with the same concept humorously. But the issue is it almost never works on the internet. This humor needs a personal touch, a mystique of mischievousness or pan-faced mockery. It's the performance which makes taboo funny. Without it, it's crude.

Worse is that without the obvious human touch, it can be received by some as more or less an uncompromising acceptance of the behavior. I knew that wasn't the case, but I also thought that without a personal touch, to indicate the absurdity of the statement, the joke was left a little too shock value, less playful.

I don't usually reply to crap like this, but who the **** are you to decide what humour needs and what makes it funny?

Quiet, you mean soundly and resoundingly beaten. 1 goal, 10 Disposals and 4 marks. Ouch.

In fact recently before 2012 he has been average against us. In the 3 games we played against Collingwood in 2010/2011 (didn't play WC in 09) he only managed a 1 goal a game average, two of those coming from his best effort in rd 10 of 2011. What makes that worse is we were thrashed but Cloke was smashed until late in the match where he accumulated some cheap, but still hardly impressive junk time stats.

Heck go back to 2007 the last time both teams were on a similar pegging and he managed 1 goal from two games against us. Was obliterated in the rd 2 game, though admittedly he worked hard off CHF in the final racking up marks and touches.

Thats a pretty mixed bag of results. Including this year played a couple of good games against us, but some shitty ones as well. Collingwood has had the wood over us for a long time, but I am yet to see Cloke really capitalise.

Did you miss the rest of my post. He was Herculean like in the prelim and GF with his efforts. Overall he had a very good finals series.

I seem to recall his efforts agaInst WCE this year too as "recent"as absolutely dominating your defense and proving the difference.
