The plural is ruckmen.

You are trolling off topic on an O'Brien thread about JJ.
What if Sloane loses form, what if Talia loses form... You are just making meaningless off topic crystal ball trolling to seek attention.
Why would I refute a prediction about the future? It's not like you can claim it will be true!
Agreed we rushed him back and ran him into the ground.
To finish 4th in total hit outs and 6th in average hit out for the year, he had a better season than some are remembering.

It's long been established that hitouts are the least useful stat in the game
His hitouts to advantage is where to start any analysis from
Do you have his hit out to advantage stats?
If ROB played 4-8 solid games for us in 2017 and projected as a decent potential first ruck in the league could we get a pick in the 20s for him at the end of the year?
One would suggest if ROB is good enough to be a first Ruck, then he'd be ready for that role in 2018.
Also we won't have both him and Sauce in the team.
So... one of them goes. ROB will ask for a trade if he thinks he won't play.
<blasphemy>We could trade Sauce. We'd get a fair bit for him. Also we'd have another top line ruckman ready to go for 8+ more years.</blasphemy>
I don't see us holding onto both if they both need 90% game time and there is one position between them.
OK I'm intrigued...6 years, As I believe there will be a Ruckman on our list in 4years and ready to go in 6 years that will be better than Both Jacobs and ROB, and we get first dibs on him thru the new Crows academy from our indigenous and multicultural recruiting zones. a young 14year old at 194cm with the Agility of a Mid with pace to spare.

We don't get first dibs do we? Only if they're undrafted?6 years, As I believe there will be a Ruckman on our list in 4years and ready to go in 6 years that will be better than Both Jacobs and ROB, and we get first dibs on him thru the new Crows academy from our indigenous and multicultural recruiting zones. a young 14year old at 194cm with the Agility of a Mid with pace to spare.

During the home and away season Jacobs averaged 8.7 hitouts to advantage a game (from 32 hitouts). Goldstein, Naitanui, Mumford and Hampson were all above 10 a game and Gawn led the league with 14 per game.Do you have his hit out to advantage stats?

Small sample size, but ROB averaged 5 a game (from 23 hitouts, 21% HTA rate). He had 7 against Archie Smith, but only 3 against Sandilands.
And he's crap with ball in hand. Gets caught often trying to kick. Needs to get on his bike this year for sure.See that's interesting. We know sauce doesn't do much around the ground and this shows as a tap ruckman he's not in first rank either
He's got plenty to prove this year.

I think he's alright around the ground myself. He doesn't hit contests/packs like I'd ideally like from a ruckman gets involved in the link play quite a bit and seems to do alright with it although like most things for him, I felt that dropped off this year. In general I've always found it a little frustrating at how often we go to him in the link up plays given he's a lumbering tall when we've got plenty of midfielders around but to his credit, he does better than most ruckman in that situation. And he's crap with ball in hand. I wouldn't say he provides nothing but this is another area he dropped a little this year. He's far from the best ruckman in terms impact away from his tap work but he's better than most or at least he was.
