Ok, lay it out on the table, what do you think is the answer to the following questions:
NBA Champions:
Runners Up:
Finals MVP:
WCF's:
ECF:
MVP:
Defensive Player of the Year:
Most Improved:
Sixth Man:
ROY:
All NBA First Team-
Centre:
Forward:
Forward:
Guard:
Guard:
Which team out of Dallas/Denver/GSW will miss out on playoffs:
Which of the big trades will prove to be the smartest (KG/Allen, Gasol, Shaq, Kidd):
Coach of the Year:
GM of the Year:
Ok, here's my effort:
NBA Champions: Boston Celtics in 7 over...
Runners Up: Phoenix Suns (I just think Shaq gives them versatility, and they're going really well at the right time of year).
Finals MVP: Kevin Garnett
WCF's: Phoenix vs Hornets (will be a 7 game series and one of the most exciting series of all time)
ECF: Boston vs Detroit (will be the opposite of the one above)
MVP:Chris Paul (though media bias will probably see Kobe get it undeservedly)
Defensive Player of the Year: Marcus Camby based on stats, though Artest is still the best actual defender
Most Improved: Can I say Monta Ellis for the second year running? No? Ok, um, Rajon Rondo?
Sixth Man: I shouldn't have even put this in, Manu Ginosebleed has this award wrapped up for the rest of his career
ROY: Horford deserves it, but Durant will get it
All NBA First Team- (Firstly, I'd like to point out this is the EASIEST all nba team to pick in the whole 16 years I've been following the NBA)
Centre: Dwight Howard
Forward: Kevin Garnett
Forward: LeBron James
Guard: Kobe Bryant
Guard: Chris Paul
(also, can anyone remember a season in the past where the top 5 MVP candidates by most peoples thinking, all played different positions and occupied the All NBA first team?)
Which team out of Dallas/Denver/GSW will miss out on playoffs: I'm hoping for Dallas, because they're horrid and will get taken out in four against anyone they play in teh playoffs - at least GSW and Denver there's a chance of a brawl or Iverson/Melo/Davis/Monta going ballistic and scoring 40 - Dallas has nothing)
Which of the big trades will prove to be the smartest (KG/Allen, Gasol, Shaq, Kidd): KG/Allen is the easiest choice, and it's for that reason I think the C's win the title this year. But the Shaq trade is looking smarter by the day - as Amare doesn't get exploited on D as much anymore. Very versatile offense.
Coach of the Year: I'm going with Adelman, to implement a whole new offense and achieve what he did with the cattle he had is a spectacular effort.
GM of the Year: Ainge had this all wrapped up, but how can you let a guy who traded Kwame freakin' Brown and Crittendon for Pau Gasol not win it? Kupchak for me.
