LMFAO. Two rookies we really are investing heavily into one ruckman and one kpf.
As much as we talk em up and hope like hell they will make it the odds say neither will. But hey thats the Richmond way we dont plan we hope.

True. But Petrie would be the best ruck / forward short term. That's all I was looking at.

LMFAO. Barlow has always been slow has never been a great kick and has always been falling of a cliff since his early days.
Yet he has been one of the better inside mids going around. Even in a yr that was below his normal standard he still did more than recent recruits and easily outperformed most of our mids.
I have to ask this year what was not not to like about
24.5 disposals a game or 6 tackles or the whopping 11.4 c/p's a game. At 189cm/91 kg he is exactly what we need and he was asked to perform run with roles which he performed to a tee. The bloke is 28 yrs old at 28 he must be over the hill because he had a slightly below par yr lol. Yes he had a poor yr by his standards.

These are averages that blokes like Caddy can only dream of yet alone Townsend and they stack up against Prestia and thats in a so called poor yr.
I really do wish people would actually watch players rather than making comments based on the media because if you had watched Barlow you would know he still has plenty to offer and he played some real good footy this yr.

I watched plenty of Freo games this year. If this club is serious, Barlow should NOT be considered. Getting in Barlow just takes away development time from someone like Corey Ellis who has more upside. Would much rather look at someone like Brant Colledge or Viv Michie.

Players can get away with being slow if they can be damaging when they have the ball. Barlow is not. He thrives in tight, contested games where his lack of pace isn't as exposed as it otherwise might be. Given the fact the game has opened up and is a lot faster and more attacking, playing Barlow would be a massive liability given he provides no run or clean footskills. It is either Barlow or Miles, and I'd much rather Miles.

I was also talking to a former AFL listed rookie just last week who is currently playing WAFL and he feels that Barlow is just about done. Ross saw the writing on the wall with the way the game was evolving and knew that Barlow would be a liability so he dropped him. Barlow has had a decent career for a mature ager, but the facts are, this club is not in the position to take him if they are serious about list management. He is not what we need. We need KPP player depth, not aging, turnover prone inside midfielders.

when is the cut off for delistings? most Clubs have been announcing them this week but nothing from us yet?

We need to lock X Richards in. He may become a 100+ game player for us. Although he's only played around 10 games he's played in a gf so to me he is a 50 game player and is only 23 years of age. Poor Jack needs some support up fwd. He genuinely needs some help, . IMO Griff has some of the most potential in the AFL but if he doesn't fulfill that to 80% this year he needs to go.

Now Angus Litherland has been given the chop he could be a seriously handy depth player. Better than batch

Should have got rid of moore earlier and taken richards with a nothing draft pick . Club has been over most things this trade period , but IMO let its gaurd down on this one. It also isn't with hindsight , I was suggesting it as trade period closed.

In all defence to the club (and I stand to be corrected), pretty difficult to negotiate a contract with like 3 days in the trade period left.

Can't Richmond still take Richards as a delisted free agent?

I personally dont believe we have any interest in Richards,Richmond usually go on record if they have an interest in players
Moore,Caddy,Prestia,Nankervis,Townsend etc etc

If we had an interest we would have traded for him similar to Nankervis and not waited for the delistings

Farewell to Moore and thanks for the memories...this is one of them after we swooped on him " “I’ve got along really well with ‘Dimma’ (senior coach Damien Hardwick) and I’m working really closely with ‘Ladey’ (assistant coach Brendon Lade). "
Typical Hartley signing who some morons on here thought would be the answer as a strong-bodied mid ;)
Which gem will Hartley ocure from Port next? I hear Mitch Farmer had a top year at Calivil United.

Would be disappointed if we don't target Richards. We probably couldn't work out a good trade for him but now that he is delisted we can grab him next week during the delisted free agency period
