GDay all. I was wondering if any of you have a photo of Chris Pym you could post. He played 24 games for Richmond from 1988-89 as a wingman/ flanker.

I work with him and only recently discovered his footballing past and would love to see a picture of him from his playing days, hopefully with a spectacular mullet.

Any pics would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Ask him about the night he kicked three goals and we beat the blues who were the top side and we were down the bottom - a night game at the G.

He was the star that night.

I remember walking out of the ground and someone around me said - i can't believe it, we beat the millionaire's.

For that cameo alone he will always be remembered by me - and no he did not have a mullet, just short blond hair.

We watched that game in a pub in 1987 where drinking in a pub underage was a priority over going to the football.

Everyone cheered for Richmond.

Even my Carlton mate was happy for me. We needed it more than him.

I think Peter Wilson did the cart wheels that night.

Its a name that rings a bell but if he gives you any stories from that time then let us know.

Always like anecdotes from former players. Just the feel of the place at the time.

He may have played with Terry Wallace.

Must have been on the Sci Fi channel as the game was in 1988

Delayed telecast on channel seven. Cant remember what delay it was back then but Friday night football was certainly around then.

I wasnt that drunk.

1980, I was simply joking that you had the years mixed up. Apologies if my attempt at humour fell short

You can also let him know that one of my dreamteam names is The Pym Up Boys. He is not forgotten round here.

Will do. He doesn't talk about his short career much, as you'd expect so it's hard to get much info out of him. His stats suggest his debut season was excellent but fell away in his second and wasn't given much of another chance.
The only time I got much of a rise out of him was when I mentioned that Carlton game. I can't believe he didn't get votes for it (at least by his stats).

Nah all good mate - I wish I knew about it in 1987 or even the night before, I would have made a killing at the TAB where I used to lose all my money on the football trying to win on an upset.

Those wins were so seldom that we need to get our dates right.

Important detail since they were the premiers the year before as opposed to that year which made it so good.

There would not have been much to get a rise about if he was in it for winning.

Must be modest bloke who doesnt want to make alot about a football career which would impress those around him but maybe he feels he should have made more of it.

Keep pushing him for an anecdote though mate.
