I never understood why the Eagles delisted him. He was so athletic and had talent to burn, he just wasn't consistent at the time. Another year or two and he could have become a very good player.

Yes. I think he was at West Perth the year before last but looked pretty ordinary. Never an AFL player in my mind. And didn't seem to have the heart to keep it up in the WAFL either. What's he doing now?

Yes, he was one of my faves when i was 12. I remember i always used to play him at fullback in the AFL Finals Fever 96 game :D even though i actually never notifed him as a player and wouldn't have a clue how good he was. I think i just liked his name at the time :D:p

But back to what you say, there are a lot of players who have been unlucky enough to be cut before they were due. You could say it about a lot of footballers from every club.

I think he played one more year in the WAFL then went Eastperhaps? or got injured and went back to the country?
He had a HUGE vertical leap...but didn't really have a footy brain. Not too badly skilled but not AFL level either if i remember correctly.

He won best first year player at the Eagles one time.

Beat Embley actually, yet got delisted whilst Embley was kept on. I was shocked when that happened, Bellotti looked alright in his early days. Certainly got more game time than Embley.

Crabb started to have some pretty solid games before he got delisted; i think hes on Ports rookie list ATM, good luck to him

A while ago now but i remember him being pretty good ;)

Think he was an emergency against Brisbane or something as I recall

Belotti was a suprise delisting since he won the first year award, i used to think he was a favorite of Malthouse. Still, he obviously wasn't a big loss, since he didn't get picked up with another AFL club and he doesn't even play WAFL anymore.

As for Crabb Apple - we had enough midfielders at the time, still not convinced he's at AFL level. Would rather have Callum Chambers than Jaxon Crabb

To be fair to the club, at 17 Crabb was a better player than both Black and Chambers. It's hard to pick on potential. Imagine if we had let Crabb go, he went to Essendon (or someone) and won the Brownlow. We'd be saying the same thing now that the papers have been saying about Black getting missed by the Perth clubs!!
