The Battle Of The Bridge is the most meaningless, convoluted, nonsensical name for a match between the Swans and the Giants. It's a wannabe name that has none of the gravitas of The Showdown or The Western Derby. And the only bridge that makes sense in the title is the Anzac Bridge which no one gives a toss about anyway.

It's about time it got a name that stuck.

And I know most of you non-NSWelshmen couldn't really give a toss, but surely we can do better than the ridiculous name we've got.

Almost all Swans & GWS fans call it the Sydney Derby, we have for years now.
Most media have finally accepted it and dropped the BoB rubbish, thank god. although I noticed League teams went with the BoB last night.
As fans we've already made up our minds, the media can either catch up or continue to show exactly how ignorant they are of AFL in Sydney.

The battle of the bridge is appropriate for the afl rivalry, reflects the fact is it was down the ladder as nsw based rivalries are concerned, below Newcastle v Cronulla but above the Kings v hawks.
