Qsaint said:He was in trouble for further breaces of the corporation law and Offset Alpine was also comming back to bite him on the A$$e. He supposedly was divorced about a month ago, probably for real but it might also help save a few assets. He began selling his personal assets of $30mil (including the house) last year, whats the bet they can't find too much of it? On the insider trading its rapant and hard to catch, Rene was very unlucky to get caught.

This was comming too:
WHAT Rene Rivkin knew about the death of former model Caroline Byrne will never be revealed after his death yesterday.
The unresolved case of the 24-year-old woman whose body was found at the bottom of a notorious Sydney suicide spot in 1995 was just one of the scandals that surrounded the high-profile stockbroker.
Rivkin was likely to have been called as a witness in the event the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions approved a police recommendation to charge Gordon Wood, Rivkin's former chauffeur, with Byrne's murder. The decision is believed to be imminent.

Well, the death of Byrne sounds more like he was merely a witness, not too well versed in the Offset Alpine stuff though, I'm sure ti will all come out in the wash.
I still stand by my comments that he was certainly not in the league of Bond or Skase though when it comes to corporate bastadry. And his death is certianly not something to laugh at considering the cause. All too often people make light of suicide as beign 'soft' or the easy way out, without understanding how serious depression and bi polar disorder really are.
