I was thinking maybe they give us Rance or McGuane
UMMMMM NO!
Neither fill a gap for us!
Rance is too small to be a key back
McGuane is plain shit!
We went after Rance a few years back, he said no
We then went after Gibson! ( Thank GOD!)
We need KPD, we have enough half back flankers!

Would rather keep Renouf, not really sure what Richmond have to offer, the first name thrown up from them would be Dan Connors I'd imagine.

Renouf is required. Would prefer he stay on the list.

I dont mind Suzie but we are looking a little top heavy. Max, Suzie, Hale, Lowden, Grim and a pinch hitting Ruff. We can afford to trade one.

Has anyone come out and said Roughie did his achilles due to rucking? Rough is a damn fine ruck.

How about a three way trade with Port Adelaide?

Trengove to Hawthorn
Renouf to Richmond
Player X + second round pick to Port

Trengove would give us another tall defence option with the added ability to be thrown into the ruck should we need it. Could be a win-win-win really.
I would do this in a heartbeat! Lose Renouf for Trengove. I would even maybe throw in a 3rd rounder.

Sure, I'd trade Suzie for Lids

No thanks. The guy's a jabber.

Never rated Renouf - I know TAITA I know (I am not being budged on this or Murphy)- so happy to trade.

The draft is supposedly weak, so would hope we could do their first and third rounder for our second and Renouf.

Trengove won't find his way to this deal.

I would not entertain trading Renouf. He has played a loan role for most of his 50 odd games, and is only 23 years old. I believe he was playing much better this year than last, and still has a long way to go.

We know he has had the odd brain fade, but that isn't uncommon in big men. His pack marking had improved this year before his injury, and he even kicked a few goals. I think he has a lot to look forward to in the years to come, and I, for one hope it is with Hawthorn.

To be honest, depending on what they are offering, I'd consider it.

I'd look at a first rounder with maybe a swap of our 2nd thrown in. If they want him they can pay for him. So 1st round and early second for Renouf and a late 2nd round.

My theory is this, Bailey is a much better ruckman than Twister, I think that is a given. Now, according to reports from many more well versed than I, Lowden is coming along beautifully, which gives us two. Hale, given a full preseason as a 'ruckman' could build his engine more than what it is so that gives us 3. Roughie is an unknown so I'll leave him out.

3 Ruckman should be plenty (granted 1 is very raw).

Nothing stopping us retaining a guy like Johnson on the rookie list as a backup plus there is Grimley though from all accounts more of a KPP than a ruckman.

Hahaha. You're kidding yourself if you think anyone in their right mind would give up that much for Renouf, and if they were stupid enough to I'd snap their hand off!

No, I don't think we should palm off Renouf to another club. Just because he isn't in the best 22 doesn't mean he isn't needed. If that was the case them we might as well get rid of 20 players!!!!!!.

Nah, silly, and won't happen.

By the way...... I would have any ruckman in the comp over Johnson any day!!!!!!!

Our window is as open as Collingwoods in the next 2-3 years and while Renouf has battled his arse out for us this is a business and I would not stress should he get traded but I would be happy to see Nahas running round our flanks. The ruck issue is solved with one simple trade that would be of great benefit to both. Trengove has sited Hawthorn as the club he wishes to go to. Lisle is looking good enough at either end. Ryan Schoenmakers as much as I love him could return home to SA and I think Trengove gives us our big defender who is capable of rucking with Hale as Baileys relief.

Geez, give Twister a chance eh? While his disposal by hand and foot isn't perfect and he often isn't fully aware of everything around him, he's a fairly young lad and the big guys usually take a bit longer to develop. At the moment though, I see him as our 4th choice with Roughy, Hale and Bailey in front of him.

Can't see Hawthorn letting him go unless he asks and even then, I'm sure they'd want to talk him out of it.

In 2-3 times, who knows.

Perhaps we could just lend him to Richmond then!!!

Of course he's required. The problem is it's hard to keep rucks as they are often in demand from other clubs who can offer them constant games, which is what they joined the AFL to do.

It's the same reason Carlton may lose Hampson.

Would have thought the club would be tentative about putting Roughy back in the ruck next year

When Ruff gets back don't expect him to be back playing in the ruck, i think you find that he will go back to his forward line position and we will need Renouf..

Roughy will at best pinch hit in the forward 50M line, we want him to play for many years...

Susie, might not be the best tap ruckman but he is a great competitor and I would not like to see him go

NO WAY!

Whatever you numptys think on here about who may or may not be our Number 1 ruck - Renouf is a VERY important part of the team. You do not spend years developing a (premiership) ruckman, to let him go right when he is coming into the peak of his abilities. Absolute foolishness.

If there was a trade... I would expect at least a good first rounder.

Is that why Blake (Geelong) is so important to their side? I mean he is a premiership player.

I really dont think that Renouf in 2 years time will be in front of Bailey, Hale, Roughead, Lowden and maybe Grimley as our prefered rucks.

So for his own benefit and career aspirations, a trade to the Tigs who are in desperate need of a ruck, might be the smartest decision he will make.
