I agree 100% Using Dawes as the 2nd Ruckman like L Brown was a Disaster and we need someone like Hale Type

Have to think that if CWD are contacting players like Lynch, that Cloke may be leaving.

Fev??? Surely a joke.

There is a 23yo who is now at footy's equivilant of bush Bradman levels with goal tallies of 148 so far this year, 130 in 2011, 157 in 2010 and 124 in 2009. If clubs lacking in fwds dont pick him up they are mad.

Thats if they get the chance... might be snapped up before collingwood..
Fev got his 100th for yarra this weekend and only played half the games in a reasonably strong league

I wouldn't take him but there is certainly worse ideas

Ah, Grant Weeks. The guy who was never mentioned until articles in major papers in the last week or so.

In his own words, he's too short, not fit enough and doesn't care enough:

"I suppose I am kind of a one-dimensional player, I played backline at VFL level, but I am mainly a forward and as a full forward I am only 6' 2" (188cm), so I am not massive and I probably don't have the aerobic capacity of a half forward at AFL level.
"I'm not worried about it, not stressed, it's not the be all and end all for me; I'm happy playing country footy and I had a crack at VFL, but getting on in life I had to concentrate on work and country footy has been great for me."

you'd have to go for the best available free agent in Goddard and the best state league forward in Tom Lee

Its not perfect, but you get a damn good player and a fill in.

I'd also be open to dealing with the crows for McKernan

He's been mentioned in articles for a few years, Hun have rated him the best country footballer for at least the past 2 years. Cant blame him for not playing VFL, he is country kid who works on his family farm and play footy on weekends. Probably simialr story to Orren Stephenson in that rookie spot is not gonna be enough to make him move to the city/interstate. Would have him over Angus Monfries every day of the week.

Weeks would at least be worth a shot. Surely he has some desire to play AFL footy - his desire might change being in an AFL environment. You might get a Nathan Ablett situation but you also might get a very good full forward.

Otherwise I'd say Quentin Lynch would be a decent shot, their window is well and truly open. Their list is young enough to take a younger bloke though. McKernan would definitely be worth chasing, would a second round pick get it done?

Q Lynch is the kind of forward the Pies would want for sure. He wont be the one thing that it takes for the Magpies to win a premiership but he'd add something. Fevola as a rookie i wouldnt count out. Paine i rate highly. Only in his first year but already has a big body to throw around

I think last nights game showed that Lynch, Kennedy, Darling and a resting ruckman doesnt fit in West Coast's forward line. Not sure as to why Lynch was a late withdrawl whether it be illness or whatever but they've dropped a big tall and replaced him with a nimbler mid sized forward in Strijk.

Either way I'm sure the Magpies have plans in place and are considering there options.

Would there be any interest whatsoever in Jesse White pies fans?

Would the pies consider trading one of their gun midfielders which they have heaps of to get an instant fix for Cloke.

Swan or Sidebottom for Charlie Dixon or Jeremy Cameron perhaps.

Not going to happen on so many levels from both sides - neither are an instant fix, and none of the clubs involve would want to trade away any of those players.
