Replay. If you don't win it you don't deserve it.

Everyone knows the rules going into the game.

Nick Maxwell's reaction was worth the price of admission.

Replay. A unique aspect of our game. Make the replay tickets half price and give members of both sides first opportunity for ticket (ie 40,000 each) and after that the MCC and AFL members and lastly the general public and corporates. Keep the tradition and give a bit back to the fans.

Replay.

Why change a rule for something that has only happened 3 times in 114 years.
There is approximately a 1 in 1500 chance of a draw ever occuring twice in a row.

Extra time in a second grand final is statistically due in the year 3510.

The current formula is correct.

Extra time of two 5 minute halves because:

1. The best team on the day will win, that is what the grand final is about.

2. The teams can change players next week. This could disadvantage or advantage one club more than another, depending on who becomes available.

3. Makes all the efforts on the day almost irrelevant. Saturday meant nothing, it shouldn't be like that.

4. The players hate it.

5. It's a hassle to change, disrupts plans of players, officials, fans and other codes.

6. Completely unfair to the fans that attended. Some of them may have spent months saving or changing plans to accomodate and might not be able to attend next week.

i like the replay.

i don't think the biggest prize should be decided upon 10 minutes if football where, in reality, anything can happen.

it would suck if one of the teams has a big let down and saturday is a blow out, but in this professional footballing world i think it is more likely to be a close game - i.e. 3 goals or less margin again.

if it were to be extra time, it would have to be at least 15 minutes each way IMO because that gives a team a proper right of replay if one team gets a run on of 2 or 3 goals. but an extra 30 minutes of football could very well just be too taxing for a team???

1. The best team on the day. Well it was a draw so there was no best team

2. Both teams can make changes so it does not matter

3. Its not irrelevant the good players will still be remembered forever. Who will forget this game?

4. Not all do e.g. Maxwell took his words back today and so did many players. Besides they get another shot at the grand final they should be happy for that.

5. They don’t have to change times for there events. It is up to them, they just don’t want to go play at the same time

6. During the year when it is a draw no one complains about wanting another ticket, besides they only payed for one game and when they payed for there ticket they new what would happen if it was a draw

Keep the reply because it is so unique and we get more football

extra time.
i can't believe people seriously think a legitimate reason to not have extra time is that there could be an unworthy winner because of the short period of extra time. Firstly, to get a draw in the first place clearly shows either team would be a deserving victor. More importantly though, isn't a team running away with it in extra time the same thing as one team running away with the match in the last five minutes of the last quarter, where up until that point it had been an even game?

Replay. We get more football and potentially another great game. Either way, extra time to decide the Premier is crap. What if after extra time in a Grand final the scores are still tied? More extra time? Followed by Penalties? What is this? Soccer? Keep the replay. Who cares that other sports might be thrown out a week?
