Sometimes I wonder if the players actually get the mail, or if it gets held up somewhere?

A few years ago when the dogs came over and played in Perth we were able to meet a few of the boys after the game at the Irish Pub.

My Dad was chuffed to have a chat to Scotty West and he got a photo taken with him. Scott said if we mailed the photo over with a return addressed envelope and stamps he would be more than happy to sign it and return the photo.

I have done this on a few occasions now but never gotten a response. Its dissapointing now that Scott has retired as my dad’s been a long time fan of his.

Does anyone know a contact person at the club you can address the letters to so you know they are getting to the players?

Previously I’ve sent it to:
Western Bulldogs Administration
417 Barkly St, Footscray West 3012

I know the guys are a busy mob, but it would mean a lot to my dad if anyone could help. Thanks!

Might be a chance your other mail ended up at the shop or former club/bistro

I sent mail two years ago (and from memory it was to the Barkly St address ). I asked for Peter Street to sign the enclosed birthday card for my husband's 50th birthday. It was short notice so I wasn't sure he'd get it in time or do it for me. Then about two days after I sent it I read in the newspaper that Peter was in hospital, so I thought that would be the end of that! However, within a week the card was mailed back to me, with signature and message, in time for the big birthday. Two weeks later I shouted my husband a surprise trip to Melbourne to the Best And Fairest Dinner and he got to meet Streetie, so we were able to thank him in person.
So, I know from experience the guys do reply.

Yeah I will....

But if anyone else has sent letters to any of the players at the club and got a response from them, it would be great to hear that they take some time to respond to some of the fans.

I sent a letter to Dougie Hawkins in 1992-3 and eventually got a signed glossy photo of the great man.

To top it off it was sent in a Sunshine City Council envelope.

Class act. :)

My sister sent the club a #6 guernsey with a letter explaining that I'd been in an accident and was in hospital and it was my birthday etc etc, and Johnno signed it 'Happy Birthday Lauren, all the very best, GO DOGS 08'.

I received it just after getting home from hospital the second time. It absolutely made my year. And it still makes me happy whenever I think of that goodwill.

I hope you get your photo signed. Apparently Scott West is my workmate's brother-in-law's best mate, but that's a bit much isn't it :p

Sent Terry an email through the club in year year seven or eight for an English assignment, but can't remember for the life of me what it was about.

Recieved a very detailed reply around a week later. Assuming it was him, but even if it wasn't it was still good to get a reply.

I sent Dimma a letter once when I was a bit younger. I still have his response, he promised me they would "give the premiership a real shake" that year - we didn't play finals

Off the Bulldogs a little. I sent Don Bradman a letter a few years ago, I had just bought the Bradman Box Set and couldn't afford the Limited Edition set that was signed personally by him.
Anyway about 2 weeks later he sent a letter back that was signed as well as two stickers that were signed that I was able to stick in the books.
I thought that was the coolest thing to happen ever.
I know he had a secretary given to him by the SACA but still he must have had heaps of requests and it was a really nice surprise for me.
