That is completely illogical, you would think that if Ratten was going to use exaggeration to highlight his previous two match efforts that he would select a round number such as 100 instead of one as specific as 96.

Oh, and for the record, he did have 96 possessions in two games - 41 in his first game, 55 in his second.

Have you got a source for that KFC? do you know where I can see some VFL stats?

Richo in doubt for Swans

RICHMOND star Matthew Richardson is in doubt for next week's clash with the Sydney Swans after injuring his glute muscle in Saturday night's breakthrough 36-point win over North Melbourne.

Richardson limped form the field in the first minute of the second term with what appeared to be a hamstring injury and went straight to the rooms, but reappeared with his leg heavily iced.

"He had a glute strain, high up in the buttocks – it wasn't a tear or anything like that," coach Terry Wallace said post-match.

"It was certainly very, very restrictive so he just couldn't get into any stride at all."

But circumstances meant the Tigers were forced to send their gun back onto the ground, albeit in a restricted role.

"We got to a situation where we took him off and weren't going to bring him back on," Wallace said.

"But with the nature of the game now, with them having [captain Brent] Harvey off, we knew if he could do a job for us by taking one of their guys to the goal square, that allowed us to keep our guys fresher, because we had one more rotation than the opposition.

"That gave us a big advantage."

Wallace said he wasn't sure if the 34-year-old would play next week.

"He's a chance to play next week – it's just a strain so we'll just have to see how he pulls up and what happens."

Cheers BB.

Very good news for every dreamteam, whether it has or has not got Richo.

Obvioulsy owners are relieved it is not long term and could be back this week if not round 7.

For those who are looking to pick him up, it is also great news as he is not badly injured and will drop in price significantly however only question mare is how well he will go when he comes back.

My prediciton is that he will get a few 80's before going back to his 110 average for the rest of the year.

If he does play next week (which I highly doubt), expect another low score from him against Sydney (not playing his wingman role).

This is devastating for me, as I chose him as a player which I thought would never go under 400k. Now everyone will pick him at bargain basement price ala Riewoldt last year.

If it makes you feel better, I don't want him. Got 6 keepers, and last upgrade will be to Deledio I'm thinking. :thumbsu::p

Haha such obvious point that I missed, yeah thats's so very true.

But look on the bright side, it's only 1 player out of your 22.

For those who are still hanging on to Mitch Robinson, as well as Houlihan owners, see below... Robinson was also named among the best in the previous 2 rounds - sounds like there's hope of an imminent return to the seniors - doesn't it??

Bullants hold on for win

Northern Bullants have continued their impressive start to the season with a thrilling six-point victory over Sandringham at Trevor Barker Beach Oval on Saturday afternoon.
The Bullants punished Sandringham's skill errors in a dominant first half to rebound from halfback and capitalise up forward through Jason Saddington, who finished with four goals in a 14.11.95 to 13.11.89 victory.
But the Zebras continued to fight, despite losing Leigh Fisher early in the first quarter, and they should have done more with opportunities created in the final term.
The competitio's leading goal-kicker Nicholas Sautner was a late withdrawal, and it told early as Sandringham lacked direction in a first term where the Bullants played numbers behind the ball.
Neither team were able to kick consecutive goals early in the second quarter, before two late goals gave the Bullants a 29-point half time lead.
Matt Maguire provided the imposing forward option in the third term, kicking three goals to bring the Zebras within 13 points.
But goals from the Bullants continued to occur at regular intervals, and they held a 26-point lead at the final change.
Tom Lynch, Maguire's fifth and a running goal from David Gallagher brought Sandringham within eight points in the opening eight minutes of the final term.
When David Armitage marked metres out from goal just a minute later, it looked as if the Zebras would be within a kick for the first time since the opening stages.
But his snap missed and Mitch Robinson's stellar performance was iced with a late goal.
Sandringham came again but Rod Crowe hit the post from 45 metres out to sum up the Zebras' day.
Mitch Robinson ran hard and captain Adam Iacobucci was vital in the final term to be amongst the Bullants best.
Matt Maguire, Jack Steven and Andy Biddlecombe were the best for Sandringham.

Ablett wants to play but probably won’t: Cats
IF IT was up to Gary Ablett he would play this week but Geelong seems likely to err on the side of caution when it tackles North Melbourne at Skilled Stadium on Saturday.

Ablett has missed just one match since being diagnosed with a strained adductor, an injury the club suspected would keep him sidelined for two to three weeks.

However the Brownlow Medal favourite, whose injury has settled better than his club had expected, is now considered an outside chance to take on the Kangaroos.

Geelong football manager Neil Balme said Ablett’s chances of returning from injury were “not zero but not strong”.

However if the Cats midfielder had a say, he’d be back in action on Saturday.

“We wouldn’t expect him to [play] but he thinks he can and he wants to,” Balme said on Monday.

“He’s got to go through a progression of his work to make sure there’s no risk.

“Our first impression was that he wouldn’t be able to do that but we’ll see what happens.”

Balme said the Cats would make a decision on their star as the week progressed.

The news was also good for several of Ablett’s teammates who played in Geelong’s 51-point demolition of the Sydney Swans.

Balme said skipper Tom Harley and his deputy Cameron Ling had both made successful returns from injury with the pair coming through the clash unscathed, while David Wojcinski was also okay after he grabbed at his wrist after spoiling a ball in the third quarter.

However ruckman Brad Ottens, who has been sidelined since round two with a knee injury, appears no closer to returning.

Balme said Ottens was still “miles away” from a comeback, with the club in no hurry to rush its premiership big man back as he battles to recover from a medial ligament injury.

For the Cloke owners..

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/76687/default.aspx

COLLINGWOOD'S hopes of leveling its win-loss ratio this weekend have been dealt a huge blow with key forward Travis Cloke set to be sidelined for at least a fortnight.

The Magpies meet Carlton at the MCG on Sunday but have confirmed that Cloke will miss two to three matches with a hamstring injury.

Cloke, considered by many to be side’s barometer, left the field early in the final quarter of Monday night’s big loss to St Kilda and did not return to the field.

Collingwood football manager Geoff Walsh said the powerfully-built left-footer was having scans today but was expected to miss upcoming matches against the Blues, West Coast and Port Adelaide.

“Trav will probably miss a couple of weeks, I think it’s a regulation hammy … we’d expect it’ll be something that’ll take 14 to 21 days,” Walsh told collingwoodfc.com.au.

Cloke isn’t the only concern for coach Mick Malthouse.

Josh Fraser, who suffered a knee injury against St Kilda, has been listed as a test this week, while the Pies will be sweating on the fitness of late withdrawals Paul Medhurst (ankle) and Leon Davis (abdominal strain).

The duo was sorely missed on Monday night as Collingwood could only manage five goals for the evening.

Walsh said Davis and Medhurst should be fit to tackle Carlton and Fraser was also confident he could play, despite injuring the same posterior cruciate ligament which has hampered him in past seasons.

“He stretched his PCL ligament in his knee … but he’s pulled up pretty well today and it hasn’t swelled up as much as we thought it might,” he said.

“We’ll be relying on him knowing his body better than anyone but he said this morning he’d be right to play, so we’re thinking it’s more likely he will [play] than he won’t.”

Walsh said midfielders Dane Swan (groin) and Dale Thomas were sore but should be right to play this week.

Alan Didak (hamstring), another player who usually adds flair and creates so much with the ball in his hands, is another week away from resuming.

One piece of bright news for the Magpies is the fact they will regain 2009 leading goalkicker John Anthony from suspension this week.

Collingwood had enjoyed a relatively injury-free run in the early part of the season, but have struck trouble at the wrong time.

“I suppose it (injuries) swings and slides a bit; you go all right for a few weeks and then you get a few,” Walsh said.

“You’re probably going to expect peaks and troughs with injuries, so hopefully this is our time when we’re getting a few and we clear it up pretty quickly, hopefully.”

Also one for if you kept hold of Brad Ottens.

GEELONG premiership ruckman Brad Ottens faces another four weeks on the sidelines after a further setback in his recovery from a knee injury.

The 29-year-old damaged the medial ligament in his right knee in the round two clash against Richmond and was originally expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

But coach Mark Thompson said the club’s No. 1 ruckman was yet to run and was at least another month from resuming senior football.

“He’s had swelling and there have been complications. At the moment he still hasn’t run, which is a worry,” Thompson said.

“We’ll try and get him running at the end of this week, or early next week, and then have to increase the intensity before training with the boys the week after.”

Thompson ruled out further surgery for Ottens, who had a minor arthroscope three weeks ago after his knee failed to respond to treatment.

“He’s definitely on the mend and he’s not far from running,” Thompson said.

While Ottens is yet to hit the training track, star onballer Gary Ablett has been running at 80 per cent but will not be risked this weekend against North Melbourne.

After missing last week’s win over the Sydney Swans with an adductor strain, the 24-year-old has been banging down medical staff’s door to prove his fitness, but Thompson said the Cats would not be swayed.

“The plan was always for two weeks and when it initially happened we gave a range (of weeks out) and two was the plan,” he said.

“Nothing has changed in our eyes. We’ve designed a rehab program to get him up to play not this week, but the following week.”

Thompson said skipper Tom Harley came through his first game of the year without a hitch and would be greatly improved by the run.
