Shirley is a very, very underrated tagger.

If there was any week he would be picked, it will be this one....

he may be picked but i think ablett will beat him this time as i dont think you can simply play your first game for the year against ablett and beat him.
think ablett will be in for another 15+ possession last quarter. he still may not do as well as last week due to adelaide's game style but im pretty sure he will get 100+ with or without shirley playing

Quote: NORTH Melbourne draftee Liam Anthony is recovering quicker than expected from a stress fracture in his right foot and could return to training within three weeks.

The 21-year-old was diagnosed with the injury ahead of North's season opener against Melbourne – initially meant to be his debut – and was set to spend up to six weeks on the sidelines.

However, chief of football Donald McDonald said that Anthony's latest scans had confirmed a shorter lay-off.

"The doctor said today (Tuesday) that the scans were better than we first thought, so it's healing really well," McDonald told kangaroos.com.au.

"In a couple of weeks' time he'll just do another precautionary scan and be right to resume training. That's two to three weeks earlier than we thought."

Because of inroads made during the pre-season, McDonald believes Anthony will need one or two weeks on the track before he can be considered for selection by VFL affiliate North Ballarat.

"If he gets through the training alright, he's just going to have to tweak his fitness up a little bit again – even though he's got a fantastic base" he said.

"Originally with the stress fracture you had to be off it for six and then there'd be another three-week period where he'd get back to full fitness again."

The midfielder wore a moonboot to aid his early recovery and McDonald said the injury had to heal naturally – with rest and without the strain of running.

North recruited 21-year-old Anthony at No.43 in November's NAB AFL Draft after three years' experience in the WAFL.

"(Carrazzo) had to get back in the team. He's had two games at the (VFL) level and had 96 possessions," Ratten said.

"He's a ball magnet. You could sit him in the third tier of the MCG and he'd still find 20 touches."

Did he seriously have 96 touches in two VFL games?! That's crazy.

And yeah, sure he'd probably still get 20 touches, he'd still manage to turn them all over from up there though.

Haha he must be in good touch, those numbers are insane.

I have Ellis injured on my bench...was going to go Enright or Mackie, but I may have to see how Carrazzo goes...

the chances are that ratten was trying to put the idea across that he has had a shiteload of the footy in the VFL, not that he has actually had 96 possessions in 2 games.

i could be wrong, but this is quite an unbeleivable achievement.

EDIT: after watching the interview ratten seems very serious about it. wow what an effort.

In: Carazzo, Out: Robinson?
On the AFL site, there article suggests that Robinson might get a reprieve from being dropped because a couple of other players might come up sore.

That is completely illogical, you would think that if Ratten was going to use exaggeration to highlight his previous two match efforts that he would select a round number such as 100 instead of one as specific as 96.

Oh, and for the record, he did have 96 possessions in two games - 41 in his first game, 55 in his second.
